Easy Moringa and Honey Hair Growth Recipe
Hey loves, did you know that moringa and honey have benefits that are amazing for hair growth?
Follow along if you would like to learn how to make my moringa and honey deep treatment recipe for extreme hair growth. The results are incredible!
Tools and materials:
- Deep conditioner mask with agave
- Moringa oil conditioner
- Raw, unfiltered honey
- Any pure oil
- Moringa powder
- Tablespoon
- Teaspoon
- ½ cup
- 4 hair ties
1. Mix conditioners
Mix together an agave deep conditioner (about 1 tablespoon) as a base with a moringa oil conditioner (about 2 tablespoons).
2. Add honey
Then add a tablespoon of raw, unfiltered honey to the mixture. Don’t overdo it because then it will be too sticky.
3. Measure oil
In a separate, heat safe* bowl or large container, add ½ cup of extra virgin olive oil or almond/macadamia/avocado. As long as it’s a good quality, pure oil.
(*I’m only using this plastic container so you can see through it, but ultimately it needs to be heated up. So, choose a pyrex or a metal pot.)
4. Mix in moringa powder
Add two heaping teaspoons of pure moringa powder to the oil. Then mix it thoroughly until there are no clumps.
5. Heat the oil and moringa powder mixture
Heat the oil and moringa powder mixture.
Since I used a plastic container, I’m heating it in a pot with hot water. I boiled the water in a kettle first and then let it cool for 10 minutes before pouring the water into the metal pot.
Important note: Do not heat it directly on the stove or in the microwave because these processes will kill the nutrients.
Once the mixture turns a lighter green and the oil begins to separate, mix it up again. Then let it sit until the water is completely cooled.
6. Let the mixture sit overnight
Remove the container from the pot and let it sit overnight to infuse.
This is how it looked in the morning. I mixed it again since all the moringa seemed to stick to the base.
7. Let the mixture sit for a week, then add it to the conditioners
Let the mixture sit for about a week until it becomes a paste consistency. Then, mix it into the conditioners.
If you want your moringa recipe to be completely DIY, you can swap in a soft avocado instead of the conditioners.
Let it sit for about 20 minutes until it is thick.
That concludes the moringa honey mask recipe. Now it’s time to apply the mask to your hair!
1. Divide your dry hair into sections
Braid your dry hair into 4 sections to make applying the mask easier. Open up one of the braids.
2. Apply the moringa honey mask
With the first open section of hair, apply regular conditioner to your roots to avoid the moringa powder sticking to them.
Then apply the moringa mask starting at the ends and apply the mask, slowly moving upward as you go.
As you can see, I’m focusing the product pretty high up the hair, but I’m doing my best to avoid my roots.
Use a comb to help work the product into the hair as well as detangle it. Always detangle hair from the ends to the roots.
Once that section is done, twist it back up to help further force the mask into the hair.
Continue this same process on all sections of your hair.
3. Cover your head
Now the mask is on all of your hair, which is all braided back up. Next, cover your head with a shower cap or a plastic bag.
Leave this on for about an hour under heat.
4. Wash out the mask
Wash the mask out using shampoo. I moisturized my hair further with a curl conditioner.
My hair was so soft after this treatment and here are the results:
Moringa recipe
This is such an intense, amazing conditioner, and it was easy to remove in the shower. There was no rescue left on my hair or scalp.
