Natalie Fowler, Vice President of Client Management
Natalie Fowler enjoys playing the flute. In fact, she played in her church’s orchestra every Sunday for six years. She has loved music and playing her instrument since she was in high school, so it feeds her soul when people tell her that her playing blesses them. It’s the same way in her job at Valent Group as Vice President of Client Management. Natalie enjoys what commercial lines insurance has to offer and says it just makes sense. “I enjoy being able to bridge the gap between insurance being something that is foreign for someone to something that is easy to understand,” she says. “I want people to realize the risks and make sure they are adequately informed to make the best decision for themselves.”
The most important thing about her job is the relationships Natalie makes with her clients and her co-workers. “My customers have become my friends and I have maintained relationships with many of them even as I have changed companies over the years,” she explains. “The best part of this job is those connections that I get to make every day.”
Natalie fell into the insurance business right out of high school when she went to work for McGriff, Seibels and Williams. “They hired a lot of young people and trained them,” she says. “It was a great place to start and I went ahead and got my license almost immediately.” Natalie continued to work on other designations, completing her CISR, CIC and CRM—and at the time she received her last designation, she was one of only 3,000 to have it. After a short stint with a smaller agency, Natalie worked for a mid-sized agency for 10 years before joining the Valent Group team in February 2017. “My co-workers here have truly become my new family,” she says. “We all work incredibly well together, share ideas and work hard to get the job done for our customers.”
When she’s not concentrating on insurance, Natalie and her husband of 18 years, Stephen, are busy raising their two daughters. Oldest daughter Katherine, Kat for short, recently graduated from McCalla High School and is heading off to college where she wants to study music. Youngest daughter Blakely just finished sixth grade at Bessemer Academy, is a competitive cheerleader, spunky, lovable and super smart. “They keep us going non-stop,” Natalie says. “We wouldn’t have it any other way.”
