After giving birth to her son with fellow actor Garrett Hedlund in late 2020, Emma Roberts shared her first photo of the newborn this week.
On Tuesday, the actress posted a photo of herself on Instagram sitting in a chair outside cradling her baby. She wrote in the caption, “Thank you 2020 for getting one thing right. Our bright light Rhodes Robert Hedlund.” For the Rhodes's Instagram debut, Roberts chose to wear a bright orange Stella McCartney dress with matching Andrea Wazen mules, dressing her infant in a matching orange onesie and oatmeal-colored eared beanie.

After much tabloid speculation over the summer, Roberts officially announced her pregnancy in August, sharing three photos of herself and her boyfriend cradling her bump on Instagram with the caption, "Me...and my two favorite guys." But by that point, some of the actress's thunder had already been stolen by her mother who accidentally spilled the beans a little earlier than she intended. During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live in October, Roberts explained, “I was keeping my pregnancy pretty low-key, but unfortunately my mother has Instagram. Mothers and Instagram, it's a bad combination. She spilled the beans.” When rumors first started that Roberts was pregnant her fans flooded her mom's DMs with congratulations on becoming a grandmother, and Cunningham enthusiastically thanked them. “It was a disaster, and I found it all out on a plane so I couldn't get to her, I couldn't call her or attack her,” Roberts said. “I could just iMessage with her and DM her and ask her to please stop.”
A source recently told People that “Garrett totally stepped it up after Emma was still recovering after giving birth” and the couple has been keeping “the baby's arrival to themselves because they're taking the pandemic very seriously. They of course want to share this time in their lives with friends and family, but they wanted to avoid having people stopping by and visiting to be safe.”
