Hello boys and girls!
A few days a dodge van landed in my lap for various reasons.
But I don't know shit about v8's or american cars, So I have a few stupid questions, and more are bound to come.

1. what is this thingomabob? my best guess is some kind of vacuum thingy that leaks, that's why they unplugged it and plugged the hose. what does it do? do I need it?

2. As far as I can see there is no adjustment on the throttle cable. But there is some kind of plastic spacer on the cable on the gas pedal. I need to take up some slack. Is more of these spacers the way to go, and if so what are they called?

Thanks a bunch!

2.) cables stretch over time. The best way to fix that is a new cable.... Or do what I do and pull the cable tight and zip some zip ties between the petal and cable stop.
Hopes this helps!
It's part of the emissions controls system. You don't really need it. The throttle cable, get a new one.
It looks like you have a 1/2 ton van, should say b150 on it somewhere. Lightest duty they made.
5 lug nuts is 1/2, over that they went to 8 or 10.
Motor, it's probally. 318 cubic inch, smallest v8 they made, next up is a 360, but seeing how it's a half ton, not a 3/4 or one ton, I'd say a 318, which, taken care of , run forever.
If, at around 100,000 miles is just doesn't start, turns over real easy, has spark but no compression,
It threw a timing chain.
The Shop
The communists and treehuggers have lots of power over here, so enviromental mumbo jumbo is huge.
And the MOT's are pretty strict compared to the US, so we'll see how my next one turns out.
And to my next stupid question, How the hell do you remove the gear shift knob without destroying it?
Thanks!
