The Best Red Carpet Looks From the Toronto International Film Festival
After more than a week’s worth of star-studded film premieres, Q&As, and after-parties at the annual Toronto International Film Festival, it’s time to take a look at some of the event’s best fashion moments. On par with the glitzy affairs in Venice and Cannes, the Toronto lineup saw loads of Hollywood A-listers come out in style for the red carpet. But considering the Toronto events occurred mostly during the day, the assortment was less focused on formal evening wear, though they weren’t any less spectacular.
Some of the highlights? Harry Styles and Emma Corrin were in town for the premiere of their film, My Policeman, and both made a statement. Styles wore a Gucci suit with a large floral appliqué, while Corrin chose Miu Miu’s black organza dress—the bodysuit of the dress cut high like a 1980s aerobic outfit. Superstar Taylor Swift also made an appearance for her short film, All Too Well, clad in a golden Louis Vuitton sequined number.
There were some more unexpected standouts, too. At the Glass Onion premiere, Janelle Monae embraced futurism in a dramatic Iris van Herpen number, complete with a long train and a sculptural bodice. When Sophie Okonedo attended the Catherine Called Birdy premiere, she chose Bottega Veneta’s lavender leather and fringe skirt, which famously retails for $29,000. Paired with a simple white tank top, the British actor made it feel totally nonchalant. Pulling off a skirt that costs as much as a car? No problem!
