Best Practices for Multilingual Linked Open Data Community Group
The target for this group is to crowd-source ideas from the community regarding best practises for producing multilingual linked open data. The topics for discussion are mainly focused on naming, labelling, interlinking, and quality of multilingual linked data, among others. Use cases will be identified to motivate discussions. Participation both from academia and industry is expected. The main outcome of the group will
be the documentation of patterns and best practices for the creation, linking, and use of multilingual linked data.
Note: Community Groups are proposed and run by the community. Although W3C hosts these
conversations, the groups do not necessarily represent the views of the W3C Membership or staff.
Due to unavailability of all co-chairs there will be no call this week, we have decided to re-start the calls with a new schedule in the beginning of 2014. This will involve a closer alignment with the new EU CSA project LIDER.
You can find more info on LIDER here http://www.lider-project.eu/?q=what-is-lider
We plan to feed our work on best-practices for MLOD, into the LIDER project.
We will be in touch in the new year, hope you enjoy the holidays.
Our first kick of meeting will be held on Thursday the 20th of June at 8am Dublin time, which is 9am in Berlin and Madrid. Please find below details of GoToMeeting which we’ll use for connecting. You can use the GoToMeeting VOIP client, which is downloaded in the link below or you can call in from a landline.
We apologise if we could not fit you into this call, we hope you can follow the minutes of the meeting and join us in our regular slot. The agenda for Thursday is as follows:
1) Welcome from co-chairs.
2) Brief introductions.
3) Housekeeping:
Frequency of meetings, (one each 3 weeks?) Set-up Doodle Poll for fixed time.
4) Review of Topics (http://www.w3.org/community/bpmlod/wiki/Topic_classification)
5) Discussion around strategies for collecting and reviewing use-cases.
The idea for the call is to introduce one another, setup some logistics in terms of communication, review the topic classification and also begin to plan the call for use-cases. These use-cases fit within the topic classification and provide best-practice examples for each sub topic. The community validates the strength of each of these use-cases.
We look forward to talking to you on Thursday, please email the co-chairs with any queries or questions.
Best Regards from the co-chairs,
Dominic Jones (Dominic.Jones@scss.tcd.ie)
Jorge Gracia (jgracia@fi.upm.es)
Jose Emilio Labra Gayo (labra@uniovi.es)
