Downed trees, power lines reported in Livingston Parish

Officials are reporting downed power lines and trees, as well as other storm-related damage in Livingston Parish and surrounding areas.

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Officials are reporting storm-related damage in Livingston Parish and surrounding areas.

The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office reports several downed trees, power lines, and blocked roads in the following areas:

  • Rosewood St. near Goldenrod St. (complete road blockage)
  • Dunlap Hall Rd. (downed tree in power lines; complete road blockage)
  • Buck Carroll Rd. (Walker area; several total road blockages)
  • North Corbin Rd. near Weiss Rd. (several downed trees)
  • Cane Market Rd. near Lawrence Bush Rd. (complete road blockage)
  • Joe May Rd. near Earl Chaney Rd. (downed trees in power lines)
  • Wayne St. near Hwy. 16 (complete road blockage)
  • Milton Rd. near Burgess Rd. (downed trees in curve)
  • Walker Road North and Weiss Road (low hanging lines, complete road blockage)
  • Varnado Road (downed, smoking power line)
  • Hwy. 43 near Hwy. 40 (downed tree)
  • Lewis Rd. (downed tree blocking road)
  • Woodland Crossing near Walker South (high water)
  • Joe May Rd. (standing water)

A large portion of our area is also experiencing power outages as a result of the storm.

Deputies advise everyone to stay off the roads, if possible.
