Former WBTV reporter David Whisenant holds Statesville book signing

STATESVILLE, N.C. (WBTV) - Longtime WBTV reporter David Whisenant held a book signing in downtown Statesville on Saturday.

Whisenant is sharing about his time as a journalist in his new book “Chasing the Story.”

He said he held the signing at GG’s because he covered a big fire there that destroyed the original store and he built a connection with the owner while reporting.

It took Whisenant 12 years to complete all the stories he’s worked on over the years for his book.

Whisenant retired last year after 32 years at WBTV.
