Andrew Phung has announced that there will be no fourth season of Canadian comedy Run The Burbs.
The Kim’s Convenience star posted on Instagram, stating that the CBC show that he co-created will end after three seasons.
“It is with mixed emotions that we share the news that CBC has decided not to move forward with a fourth season of Run the Burbs,” Phung wrote. “Naturally, we were saddened to hear this, but it’s also offered a chance for us to reflect on the 3 seasons we’ve made.”
“Making Run the Burbs was an absolute joy and we’re so incredibly proud of what this show has accomplished on and off screen. We’re also excited to have season three gearing up for its premiere on one of the leading networks in the US, and an amazing partner for the show, The CW,” he added.
Season 2 of Run The Burbs was picked up by CW in October 2023 but was pulled from the scheduled in November. No air date has been set for season 3.
Run The Burbs follows The Phams, a Vietnamese South Asian family who navigates the challenging conventional notions of family values and suburban living while fully embracing life’s adventures.
Recently, Run The Burbs revealed that a mini Kim’s Convenience reunion would be featured on the show as Paul Sun-Hyung Lee and Nicole Power joined Phung as guest stars.
“I loved making Kim’s Convenience,” said Phung. “It was a joy to be a part of that show and working with that incredible cast each day was a dream come true. Simply put, Paul and Nicole are the best at what they do. I look up to them so much and I’m honoured to call them my friends — reuniting with them on screen this season means everything to me.”

“I’ve been looking for the right moment to bring them onto Run the Burbs from the beginning, and finally, in season three, we have been able to develop characters that were perfect for them. From the first take, it felt like no time had passed and we didn’t skip a beat. They are hilarious in these roles, and I can’t wait for everyone to see us back together.”
