If there is one thing we love (have always loved, in fact!) about the city is the cool, pleasant Bangalore weather. While we miss heading out for a plate of steaming hot Masala Puri and Samosa Chaat just after the rains, we can still order in. And we’re craving ourselves some spicy South India tea-time snacks like Kodubale and Nippattu. That’s when we started looking for places delivering them and we stumbled up Shree Mahalakshmi Sweets. Quite popular for their sweets and desserts, the eatery also has an array of crunchy monsoon snacks.

We’re talking the likes of Congress Masala Peanuts, Avarekalu Masala, Kodubale, Bonda Beeja (fried peanuts) which are favourites with people of Karnataka. We also spotted some mixtures and dishes like Mogra Khara, Chakli, Murukku (no, the two are very different!), Ord Avalakki (fried, flattened rice which is spiced) and Onion Pakora. They have North Indian snacks like Samosa and Kachori as well but we’d stick to the crunchy South Indian offerings. While you're at it, if you have a sweet tooth then order a Badushah or even a Kaju Katli to go along with the snacks. Well, go ahead then, make your next chai break a great one!
