Joan Mortimer

Joan T. Mortimer, 84, of Zanesville passed away on Saturday November 11, 2023 at Genesis Hospice Morrison House.
Joan was born in Zanesville on January 5, 1939 to the late Edward and Fannie Uher Deeds.
Joan was a 1957 Graduate of Frazeysburg High School and a 1959 Graduate of White Cross School of Nursing in Columbus, Ohio where she became a Registered Nurse. Her nursing career spanned over many years and in 1974 she retired to start her family.
She was a former member of The Hospital Guild, Muskingum County Library Board, Grace United Methodist Church, and Order of Eastern Star. Joan also retired from Merle Norman Cosmetics where her passion was helping people. Joan was a very independent person who enjoyed playing bridge, reading books, scratching lottery tickets, cheering on The Buckeyes, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by a daughter Amy (Mike) Kilgore of Lancaster and a son David Mortimer of Zanesville, three grandchildren: Eli Mortimer, Christopher Combs, and Madelyn Combs.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth M. Mortimer who passed away on March 5, 1988, two brothers: Richard Deeds and Charles Deeds, and a sister–in-law, Virginia Deeds.

Calling hours will be from 11am to 1pm on Saturday November 18 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD ZANESVILLE. Private burial will follow in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
