Hello, I'm Bene*. Welcome to Wikidata! I noticed that you recently removed a link from Q390046, but didn't add it anywhere else. If you feel that the link would be better suited to another item, please add it there. (If you don't know how to do that, feel free to contact me at my talk page and I can do it for you.) If you're curious about editing Wikidata, and would like to test things out, please try the Wikidata Sandbox. Thanks, and happy editing! --Bene* talk 11:36, 16 March 2013 (UTC)
Libellé du Seigneur des anneaux
Salut,
--Harmonia Amanda (talk) 12:35, 17 August 2014 (UTC)
- Salut Harmonia, ok merci d'avoir corrigé. --Sisyph 17:22, 17 August 2014 (UTC)
--Infovarius (talk) 14:22, 21 August 2014 (UTC)
The same question. To Infovarius: please, translate the answer for me into Russian, i don't understand French ;-) -- Sergey kudryavtsev (talk) 06:41, 22 August 2014 (UTC)
- from narrative universe (P1080) link with a fictional universe (item that have instance of (P31) with fictional universe (Q559618)), present in work (P1441) link with a work. I am correcting the wrong uses. If it possible, both properties should be used (for exemple Aragorn (Q180322) has both from narrative universe (P1080) with Tolkien's legendarium (Q81738) and present in work (P1441) with The Lord of the Rings (Q15228)) but most fictional entities doesn't belong to a notable fictional universe, so we can probably use only present in work (P1441).
- There was many wrong uses, linking works with P1080 instead of P1441, but I think I cleared most of those. Is that more clear? (I answered in english because you say you understand better english, but as I'm not a native speaker don't hesitate to tell me if I am not understandable). --Harmonia Amanda (talk) 20:41, 21 August 2014 (UTC)
- Please, answer here, without copying.
- That's not wrong uses, P1080 changes its label "from narrative" (Yair rand) → "from narrative or fictional universe" (Zolo) → "from fictional universe" (you, August 20). E.g. Dmitri Karamazov (Q17301560) P1080 ("from narrative") The Brothers Karamazov (Q183157). In russian label was no mention of "fictional universe" at all... -- Sergey kudryavtsev (talk) 05:32, 23 August 2014 (UTC)
- I add in Property talk:P1441 more "classical" example from "The Seagull" by Anton Chekhov. -- Sergey kudryavtsev (talk) 05:41, 23 August 2014 (UTC)
- Please, сorrect the values of "description", "infobox parameter" and others template parameters in Property talk:P1441. -- Sergey kudryavtsev (talk) 05:52, 23 August 2014 (UTC)
- Yes, you're right the english version said that, but I think many people understood "from narrative universe", because if that wasn't the case why say "narrative" and not "work"? The "fictional universe" was added quickly, but wasn't here at first in english. But the french description (only three days after the creation of the property) only mention "universe" and not "work", and that's the same in all the languages I speak/understand. No mention anywhere of "work" from what I could see. No one mentioned this ambiguity when we spoke about creating P:1441.
- Either way, we would have had to separate in-universe information (from the fictional universe) and out-universe information (from the work) at one point, so either move "fictional univers" or move "works". I chose to correct "works" because from what I could see P1080 concerned only fictional universes.
- The constraints are added to the property talk page . --Harmonia Amanda (talk) 14:52, 23 August 2014 (UTC)
- So the main problem was in synchronizing labels and descriptions in different languages! I was suspicious about your changes, Harmonia, because in Russian they looked strange. --Infovarius (talk) 19:17, 25 August 2014 (UTC)
- But now Property talk:P1080 contains contradictory examples (works but + universes). Er? --Infovarius (talk) 19:20, 25 August 2014 (UTC)
- The examples are corrected too . I have something like a thousand items to verify still but there was a bug a few days ago and the dump from which many tools are working didn't save a lot of modifications (the modifications are on wikidata but not on autolist). I'll have to wait for the next dump (normally next saturday) to do the rest but it shouldn't concern to many items. --Harmonia Amanda (talk) 19:38, 25 August 2014 (UTC)
- Again I don't understand this change. Franchise is neither universe nor work, it seems to me. --Infovarius (talk) 07:40, 28 August 2014 (UTC)
- As for this edit: there is a claim in Dungeons & Dragons (Q1375) that it's a fictional universe. --Infovarius (talk) 12:10, 2 September 2014 (UTC)
- Salut!

Project Notification
Hello Harmonia Amanda,
Did you receive the project notification on Wikidata:Requests_for_deletions#Q16747395? I'm not sure if my fix to the template worked. --- Jura 18:12, 27 October 2014 (UTC)
The Structured Data Bee, vol. 1, issue 1
Greetings, thank you for signing up for the Structured Data newsletter and its first edition. With this newsletter, the Structured data team plans on keeping you informed of technical progress, events, and communications to talk about the project, and continued information on how you can participate. This newsletter will be sent approximately every two weeks, and future editions will be translatable prior to publication. If you're new to Wikidata and want more information about how it works in relation to Wikimedia Commons, you can read an introduction to Wikidata for Commons being drafted.
Tech and design
- The software development for this process is still in the planning phases. The idea is to have some functional prototyping done for experimentation and feedback by the end of the year.
- The initial roadmap for development has been posted on Commons. The roadmap is a rough outline and is open to iterations as the team learns where and when to focus its energies.
- There is a page set up for design ideas about what structured data could potentially look like.
- There are forthcoming requests for comment about the particulars of technical architecture on mediawiki.org. Keep an eye on the commons:Commons:Structured data/Get involved page for notification of when the RfCs are posted.
Events and chats
- There was a week-long meeting between the Wikimedia Foundation's Multimedia team, the Wikidata team, and community members, held in Berlin, Germany, at the office of Wikimedia Deutchland on October 6-10. You can read an overview of the event in on this page on Commons. There are also plenty of pictures available on Wikimedia Commons.
- If you would like to read more detail about what was discussed, there are etherpads of notes taken for each day of the event.
- The next IRC office hour to discuss the structured data project will be held on November 20, from 19:30 to 20:30 UTC.
Getting involved
- You've signed up for the newsletter. That's a great first step!
- While working prototypes are being developed, there is a drive to make all files contain machine-readable data on Wikimedia projects.
- The information and sign-up page is located on Meta, at File metadata cleanup drive.
- The MrMetadata tool on labs that will identify files on your wiki(s) that need information templates added.
- A hub has been launched to facilitate communication and documentation for this work.
- There is a frequently-asked questions page that is finishing drafting and will need translated. Keep an eye out for when it is ready if you are interested in translating.
- There will be active organization of the Get involved page as community participation is further organized. There will be work groups, similar to specific Wikiprojects, dedicated to particular aspects of structured data like licensing presentation, design, API performance, and even helping out with this newsletter and other community communications.
There will be much more information and activities around the proposal to develop structured data on Wikimedia Commons. This project is a major undertaking and an important step as the chief provider, repository, and curator of media for Wikimedia projects.
Thank you for your participation in such an extensive project, let me know if you're interested in participating in this newsletter. Keegan (WMF) (talk) 04:43, 1 November 2014 (UTC)

Mise à jour de Wikidata no labels
Bonsoir,

Re:
Thanks for the info! I had doubts about the use of these properties but now they're solved. Cheers! Totemkin (talk) 13:59, 8 November 2014 (UTC)
Extending present in work (P1441) on real/legendary/biblical etc. persons
Some time ago I started a discussion about extending the property and use it for non-fictional characters as well. The idea has a strong backing from Jura1, who wants to pair it with characters (P674) and introduce an invert constraint there (see also discussion page there). Since you were the proponent of the P1441 property, I would appreciate your opinion to this issue.--Shlomo (talk) 12:02, 12 November 2014 (UTC)
Why
Hi, why do you create non linked items such as Q18643306, Q18643318 etc? At least I do not find articles on any Wikipedia connected to them. Csigabi (talk) 20:48, 17 December 2014 (UTC)
Q18663532
In my opinion, you should make other claims in an item such as 2001 Tustumena 200 (Q18663532). Compare it with an edition of the Tour de France, Olympic Games etc. So it should be instance of (P31) Tustumena 200 (Q7856853) instead of using part of (P361). Also, the specific location can be described in the 'event' item and not in the edition item. Here, the 'location' = 'Tustumena 200'is not valid anyway because it is not a location but a race. Labels
Hello Harmonia Amanda,
I found the Special:ApiSandbox very useful to do a large number of changes. You can do all labels in one go. Inwind (talk) 08:53, 24 December 2014 (UTC)

Please add English descriptions to these item, so that other users can find their difference.--GZWDer (talk) 12:17, 2 February 2015 (UTC)
- @GZWDer: I tried to explain it, but my english isn't very good. I based these items on this because I mostly use it for sled dog racing where these terms are used. I thought we could expand them to others sports but I'm not sure I'm clear. --Harmonia Amanda (talk) 12:56, 2 February 2015 (UTC)
