Discussion
[edit]- Question @So9q: what about re-purposing donated by (P1028) as a qualifier on an owned by (P127) statement? --SilentSpike (talk) 15:07, 13 April 2020 (UTC)
- @SilentSpike:I don't know, could you give an example?--So9q (talk) 20:32, 23 April 2020 (UTC)
- @So9q: I was thinking like Another Sioux Chief (Q18691633) -> owned by (P127) -> Phoenix Art Museum (Q977015) -> donated by (P1028) -> Sharron and Delbert Lewis (Q18691638). In this way you don't have to rely on implicit matching of start/end times across statements. However, that was based on the usage of donated by (P1028) for ownership of an object, which I see does not match your example use case (which I believe is already using the donated by (P1028) property in an unintended way). I'm actually not sure I understand what the example item represents. --SilentSpike (talk) 10:26, 24 April 2020 (UTC)
- Support because this workaround only works if you know who donated the object, and the donator is a wikidata item. -- H005 (talk) 06:39, 4 August 2020 (UTC)
- @H005: In Wikidata we have special values "no value" and "unknown value", unknown value would fit such a scenario. --SilentSpike (talk) 15:35, 4 August 2020 (UTC)

- Weak oppose missing examples, not needed if it's only to be used in items about donations such as COVID-19 related donations (Q88542183). Vojtěch Dostál (talk) 08:20, 11 August 2020 (UTC)
- Agree about "not needed if it's only to be used in items about donations such as COVID-19 related donations (Q88542183)", but I see potential uses for pieces of arts / antiques etc., which often are donated to museums etc. -- H005 (talk) 09:16, 11 August 2020 (UTC)
- Strong oppose Could you complete all your proposals as well as possible and put Labels on the Items, please. —Eihel (talk) 14:39, 16 September 2020 (UTC)
