Yu with acute (Ю́ ю́; italics: Ю́ ю́) is a letter of the Cyrillic Script that is used when representing the stressed form of the letter Ю ю (Yu). The intonation being on the u in the letter.[1]

Usage

This letter being written with an acute accent is optional in use and usually not used in many situations other than in dictionaries or textbooks. This is to teach those learning the language of the way a word is pronounced, as a way to express if a word has a vowel that is stressed or not. Example: ю́ный (Youthful).

Computing codes

Being a relatively recent letter, not present in any legacy 8-bit Cyrillic encoding, the letter Ю́ is not represented directly by a precomposed character in Unicode either; it has to be composed as Ю+◌́ (U+0301).
