Sora Takenouchi (武の内 空 Takenouchi Sora) is a character in the anime and manga series Digimon Adventure and Digimon Adventure 02. She is partnered with Biyomon.
Sora is a very reliable person and tries to take care of the other kids. Her father works as a professor at the Kyoto University and in season 2 you will also see that Jim (Joe's older brother) does research at the university with Sora's dad. She lives only with her mother, a famous flower arranger. Sora is the bearer of the Crest of Love.

Sora became very tomboyish. She played on the soccer team with Taichi "Tai" Kamiya (Taichi Yagami). She had a few issues with her mother, Toshiko, who wanted Sora to quit soccer and study the art of flower arranging (ikebana - 生花), and her absent father Haruhiko. But it was thanks to Biyomon that Sora and her mother made peace. Sora can be seen as like her mother in many ways, such as a tendency to be almost overprotective of everyone else. She tries to put everything on herself, even when she cannot handle it, which leads her to eventually trap herself in a dark cave like Yamato "Matt" Ishida (Yamato Ishida), who along with Joe Kido, eventually helps her to escape. Sora is eleven years old (the same age as Tai and Matt) and in the fifth grade. She holds the Crest of Love (愛情の紋章 Aijō no Monshō). She is by and large seen as the down-to-earth character who serves as a motherly figure to various characters, the two younger children and Mimi Tachikawa in particular. It is vaguely hinted in the first season that Tai has a little bit of a crush on her.

Digimon Adventure: Our War Game
Sora was angry at Tai after he made an insensitive comment about her hair clip. Izzy tried to call her to help but she refused to answer the phone when she heard it was from the Kamiya (Yagami in the Japanese version) residence. After Diaboromon was destroyed, Sora finally got the e-mail apology that Tai had sent earlier and forgave him.

In May 2000, Sora arrived in the Digital World and gave up her Crest power to free the Sovereigns. As a result, Biyomon lost the power to become Garudamon.

The second season takes place three years after the original. During this time, Sora loses some of her tomboyishness and is now learning flower arranging from her mother. Although she no longer plays soccer, she is in the tennis club and still joins the other Digidestined whenever they can. There are signs that show that Sora develops feelings for Matt like when Sora goes backstage to give Matt some homemade cookies during the Christmas special.

Digimon 02: Michi E No Armor Shinka
Sora is praticising ikebana at home, but a reaction from her digivice causes her to vanish.

Digimon 02: Natsu no Tobira=
She was at a store with Mimi and Hikari "Kari" Kamiya (Hikari Yagami), intent on making home-made chocolate for Matt. But they were taken hostage by Boltmon. She was happy when Matt declared his feelings for her though she was a bit confused about the tap-dancing bit he and the others were doing at that time.

Digimon 02: Diaboromon Strikes Back
Sora was mainly busy with her tennis group but showed up at the end to where Tai and Matt were after Imperialdramon showed up. In the end credits you can see her laughing with her arm around Tai's and sitting next to him on top of a trolley car (supposedly the same one that took the original kids home). This seems to suggest that the two of them have gotten together. However this contradicts earlier images of her apparently shopping with Matt during the beginning as one of the Chosen Children photos circulated on the Web by Diaboromon. Also, several moments of the movie show that she and Matt are dating (like when Matt tells the kids that Sora went on a tennis trip). According to some, it is likely that she and Matt had a fight and she was trying to make him jealous by being closer to Tai.

Digimon 02: Series Finale Epilogue
By the year 2027, Sora is married to Matt and has become a fashion designer. She has a daughter (first born) who looks a lot like Yamato and a son (second born) who looks more like her.
