Star Track Express is one of Australia's largest express road and logistics companies. The company was established in 1974 located in Dee Why, NSW. Today, the company has over 55 depots and agents nationally, with their head office located in Pymble, NSW.
The company was started by a handful of industry visionaries who identified the need for a nationwide quality express freight service. With a "can-do" attitude and highly motivated staff, the company created a strong tradition of setting industry standards and meeting our commitment to customers, providing "the best possible service at the lowest possible cost"
The company has invested over $200 million over the last 5 years in upgrading infrastructure and equipment to their major depots. The company has a unique automated freight management system, being pioneers of this technology in Australia with the first being implemented in their Smithfield, NSW depot in 1993.
The company has won several awards over the years, in 1994 The Australian Institute of Materials Management awarded the company with the "S.E. Pike Trophy" for distinguished achievements in transportation and the "Mike Munns Merit Award" for excellence in the development of materials handling. The company also consecutivley won both awards again in 2002.
Currently with over 3,000 employees. On the 23rd December, 2003 the company was sold to as a joint venutre to Qantas and Australia Post.
