Novell File Reporter is reporting software that allows network administrators to identify files currently stored on the network and report on the size of individual files, file type, last accessed, disposition of duplicates, as well as volume size, volume capacity and much more. It is a component of the Novell File Management Suite.
How It Works
Novell File Reporter examines and reports on terabytes of data via a reporting engine (NFR Engine) and agents (NFR Agents) distributed across the network. [1] The NFR Engine schedules the scans conducted by NFR Agents, processes and compiles scans for reporting purposes, and provides report information to the user interface. In addition to the standard reports [2] it can generate, the NFR can also generate "trigger reports" in response to specific events (a server volume crossing a capacity threshold, for example).
