Sanji (サンジ), nicknamed "Black Leg" Sanji (黒脚のサンジ, Kuro Ashi no Sanji), is a fictional character in the One Piece franchise created by Eiichiro Oda.
He is the Straw Hat Pirates' cook. His dream is to find the "All Blue" (オールブルー, Ōru Burū, renamed "Great Blue" in 4Kids' dub), a legendary sea, containing every kind of fish in the world.
Creation and conception
Design
Sanji is a tall, lean, with the left eye permanently hidden by his hair. Usually wears a black suit, wearing an elegant way. His eyebrows are shaped spiral.
After time-skip, Sanji now covers his right eye and left eye shows. He grew a thick goatee and a small mustache.

Sanji is the best cook that can be. It's a womanizer and constantly flirts with any beautiful woman he sees, and constantly does so with Nami and Robin. He and Zoro have a great rivalry, they spend fighting (verbally and physically) for minor issues and very often.
Voice actors
In the original Japanese version of the One Piece anime series, Sanji is voiced by Hiroaki Hirata as an adult and Ikue Ōtani as a child.
In the 4Kids dub, he is voiced by David Moo as an adult and Veronica Taylor as a child. And in the Funimation dub is voiced by Eric Vale as an adult and Christine Auten as a child for .
Abilities
Sanji only uses kicks while fighting. He said that this is because a chef's hands are his most prized possessions and should not be risked in battle[1]. His fighting style resembles the capoeira. Eventually, Sanji begins using a fire-based kick technique known as Diable Jamble (悪魔風脚 (ディアブルジャンブ), Diaburu Janbu, spelled as "Diable Jambe" in Viz Media's manga translation), in which he heats his leg by spinning around rapidly to increase his attack power.

Sanji ranked in the Top 5 of all three Shōnen Jump character popularity polls.[2][3][4]
