Young Liars is a Canadian indie rock band formed in 2008 in Vancouver, British Columbia. On November 9, 2011, Nettwerk Records announced that they had signed Young Liars to their record label. The band released their debut full-length, Tidal Wave on June 24th. 2014.[1]
Music
Their musical style is upbeat and reminiscent of Foals, Hot Chip, Two Door Cinema Club and Phoenix. The band was named after the David Lapham comic Young Liars.[2]
Homesick Future
Young Liars self-released their debut EP, Homesick Future, as a digital-only album on February 24, 2011. The EP featured seven tracks which garnered attention from Nettwerk Records who signed the band soon after. Homesick Future was eventually re-released by the label on February 21st, 2012. It featured their debut single "Colours".
Touring
Young Liars has primarily performed around the metro-Vancouver area and western Canada but after signing with Nettwerk, they have recently started headlining showcases at various music festivals including Rifflandia, NXNE and Sled Island in Canada. The band's first American performance was in October 2011 at Filter Magazine's Culture Collide Festival in Los Angeles, CA. [3]
