Musethica is a non-governmental organization that introduces a new concept of education to classical music performance. The central objective of Musethica is to create a model for excellent music students to perform on a regular basis for different audiences as an integral part of their education.

A small, carefully selected group of young musicians participate in master classes conducted by world-renowned musicians, which often perform together with the young musicians.

The concerts comprise the finest repertoire of chamber music from solo performances to octet, and the young musicians receive no fee for their performances.

The concerts take place at a great variety of locations within the community: schools of special education, hospitals, psychiatric centers, prisons, centers for the homeless, community centers, social enterprises and other places.

The model provides the students with the opportunity to play a huge number of yearly concerts which tremendously improves their musical and instrumental abilities and brings joy and happiness to many children and adults during the academic school year.[1] it is a new element in music education,[2] an element which was missing in the official curriculum of young performing musicians.

History

The Musethica concept was conceived in 2009 by the violist Avri Levitan and was officially launched in 2012 in Zaragoza, Spain under the auspices of Levitan and Professor Carmen Marcuello. As of 2017, Musethica has five active associations: in Spain, Germany, Israel, Poland and Sweden. Musethica is also active in France, China and Austria.
