Constipation

Disputed paragraph removed: There are studies that suggest that consumption of honey may be useful in alleviating the symptoms of constipation.[1]

Sorry, but I don't think a single study, conducted on mice, that "suggests that honey can improve the symptoms of constipation" is WP:DUE for inclusion in the most general article about honey. I would argue that it falls into WP:PRIMARY category (a scientific paper documenting a new experiment conducted by the author is a primary source for the outcome of that experiment) and arguably violates WP:MEDRSPrimary sources should NOT normally be used as a basis for biomedical content and particularly the pyramid at WP:MEDASSESS: those results apparently come from the lowest level, "Animal and Laboratory Studies", and cannot be used to assess health effects of honey in Wikipedia voice. The following line requires revision: "In addition, cooking or adding honey to boiling or hot liquids can release harmful substances to the body. Adding honey to hot drinks destroys many of its enzymes and may cause gastrointestinal problems in the long run.[139]"

- Both claims are vague (what "harmful substances" does it release?) - The only reference is a link to a craft store website and is not a reliable source for this information - The source offers no clear origin to its claims, so the statement should be considered suspect unless a more reliable source is found EAMbird (talk) 06:58, 8 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Done from a cursory google search I did not find any MEDRS and it looks like this is a ayurvedic belief Cannolis (talk) 07:46, 8 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Use of the term 'raw honey' in UK

In the Honey (England) Regulations 2015 there is no such term as 'raw honey'. The regulations list the terms that csn be used in relation to honey. It is not a term that is legally defined in the UK. Black Mountain Honey in Wales was asked by trading standards to stop using the term 'raw' on its honey labels. see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yAnnYx7NUE4 89.241.102.49 (talk) 12:20, 1 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Youtube is not a reliable source for Wikipedia's purposes, but that really doesn't matter at this point because it is unclear what you want us to do about it. If this article were about the word "honey", there may be some use for adding this information, but encyclopedias are about things, not words. Dictionaries are about words. This is really too specialized to call it a WP:ENGVAR thing, so I really don't know what you want us to do? Zaereth (talk) 19:01, 1 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Infusion

There's a variety of beekeeping focused on infusing flavors into honey, such as lemon, lavender, or cinnamon. Basically, different flavors have been introduced, would it be possible to add another section? Purplepeopleperson (talk) 22:43, 13 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I doubt we need an entire section on it. If you have some reliable sources then it would probably fit in the adulteration section just fine. Zaereth (talk) 22:46, 13 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
