The Canadian Depository for Securities Ltd. (CDS) is Canada's national securities depository, clearing and settlement hub and provides valued, secure and reliable securities market services that continuously improve efficiency, effectiveness and global competitiveness. CDS supports Canada's equity, fixed income and money markets, holding close to $2 trillion on deposit and handling over 45 million securities trades annually. (http://www.cdsltd-cdsltee.ca/)

Internationally, CDS settles over twelve million cross-border transactions with the U.S. annually, and has custodial relationships with Japan Securities Settlement & Custody Inc. and Euroclear France.

CDS is owned by major Canadian chartered banks and members of the Investment Dealers Association of Canada and The Toronto Stock Exchange Inc., and is regulated by the Ontario and Quebec securities commissions and Bank of Canada, with working and reporting relationships with the Canadian Securities Administrators, other provincial securities commissions and the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions.
