Title formats

[edit]

Ouch, how this needed to be edited. "Grefve" and "grefvinna" are inadequate vintage spellings of the titles, and titled nobility in Sweden have the titles before the full name, not between the first and last names. It´s also "friherre", not "friherr". I guess this had been very much mixed up with how nobility are styled in Germany. Pemer (talk) 06:43, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move

[edit]

Count Oscar Bernadotte of WisborgOscar, Prince Bernadotte — His more notable title was Prince Bernadotte and thus this article's heading should have the same name format as his nephew Carl, Prince Bernadotte. He never used the lower title and was never called Count. His wife was never called Countess - they were Prince and Princess Carl and Ebba Bernadotte. SergeWoodzing (talk) 00:54, 4 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This was uncontested for over 10 days so I moved it myself. SergeWoodzing (talk) 19:45, 14 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Prince Oscar BernadotteOscar Bernadotte – Per WP:CONSISTENT and WP:COMMONNAME. On the first point, the other two princes of Sweden who married morganatically (Sigvard and Carl Johan Bernadotte) do not use the prefix "Prince". The three also shared the same two titles (Prince Bernadotte and Count of Wisborg) in the same country (technically, Luxembourg). In terms of COMMONNAME, "Oscar Bernadotte" is slightly preferred to "Prince Oscar Bernadotte" as demonstrated by ngrams [1]. estar8806 (talk) 04:00, 26 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
