The T95, not to be confused with the earlier T-95 Gun Motor Carriage or the later Russian T-95, was a series of American prototype tanks produced during the mid-1950s and early 1960s. These tanks used many advanced features that would be used in later tanks, such as siliceous-cored armor and an optical rangefinder. This T53 OPTAR rangefinder, mounted on the right track, used an intense infrared beam instead of a laser like later rangefinders, and was not very effective in mist and rain.
