The Circus Starring Britney Spears is the seventh concert tour by American singer-songwriter Britney Spears to support her fifth and sixth studio albums, Blackout and Circus.[1]. The tour is being sponsored by Virgin Mobile

Background

Shortly after the New York radio station Z100 premiered her new song, "Womanizer", Spears made a surprise appearance on the show and announced she would be going on a worldwide tour in spring of 2009 to support the album, and that rehearsals would begin in January for a March kick off.[2] The tour was officially announced on December 2, 2008 to coincide with the album's release. So far, the tour has sold over 600,000 tickets.[3][4][5] The tour is currently in talks with Australian promoters to be brought to Australia after the the completion of the North American and European legs of the tour. The Pussycat Dolls are using this tour as the North American leg of their World Domination Tour.[6]
