Michalis Karchimakis (born in 1957 in Crete, Greece) is a Member of the Hellenic Parliament and the General Secretary of the Panhellenic Socialist Movement.
Early Life
Michalis Karchimakis was borned in 1957 in Crete, Greece. He is a former employee of the Olympic Airlines.
Education
Michalis Karchimakis graduated from the Law School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens with a major in Political Sciences.
He completed his studies with a Post-Graduate degree in Regional Development.

Politics
Michalis Karchimakis is a member of the Panhellenic Socialist Movement since 1974.
He was firstly elected as a Member of the Hellenic Parliament in 1996, in the Perfecture of Lasithi, Crete. He was re-elected in the National Ellections of 2000, 2004, 2007 and 2009. During the last Parliamentary Elections, he was elected as a Member of the Parliamentary Team of the Panhellenic Socialist Movement. He has been a member of the Inter-Parliamentary Comission of Greek-Australian and Greek-Chilean friendship.
From 1993 until 1995, he served as a Special Advisor to Andreas Papandreou. In 1999, he was appointed as a Deputy Secretary of the section in charge of agriculture. From 2004 until 2007, he served in numerous positions, including the Committee that was established to prevent issues of corruption, lack of transparency as well as misuse of the Public Funds.
After the National Elections of October 2009, Michalis Karchimakis was appointed as the Deputy Minister for Agriculture and Food Development.
Personal Life
M.P. Michalis Karchimakis is married to Maria Taliouri and he has two sons.
