Zekeriyaköy, Istanbul
Zekeriyaköy is a village of the Sarıyer district of the Istanbul municipality in Turkey. It is famous for its silent village life among the upper middle class of the city. It became a rising entity in the real estate market after the construction of the modern villas next to the old village, where natives still live. Fincan and Tike are some of the popular restaurants of Zekeriyaköy. There is also a bazaar, opens once a week, where you can find vegetables and fruits from the local regions.
The high end residential developments have turned this small village into one of the wealthiest districts of Istanbul. House prices can range anywhere between $500,000 to $5,000 000.[1][2] Due to its close location to the city's main financial centers such as Maslak and Levent, it became a prime residential location for Istanbul business elite.
Name
Zekeriyaköy takes its name from the türbe of Zekeriya Baba, which is located behind the historical mosque of the village.
