Founded in 2008, Roc Nation is a full-service entertainment company, inclusive of artist management, music publishing, touring, merchandising, film, television and an independent record label. The firm has a multi-year partnership with live event company Live Nation.[1][2][3] In June 2009, Roc Nation's record label division signed a 4-year distribution deal with Sony Music.[4] In 2010, Roc Nation partnered with London-based entertainment company Three Six Zero Group.[5] In February 2013, Roc Nation's music publishing division signed a worldwide administration deal with Warner/Chappell Music.[6] In early April 2013, Roc Nation formed a new sports management division, Roc Nation Sports.[7] In addition to managing athletes, the sports division would later add a full-service boxing promotion subsidiary.[8] After the Sony deal expired, in April 2013, Roc Nation Records signed a multi-year partnership with Universal Music.[9] In February 2015, Roc Nation and Three Six Zero Group announced the formation of Three Six Zero Entertainment, a new management division aimed at representing clients in the film, television and literary industries.[10]
