Micheline Ishay

Micheline Ishay is a political scientist known for her work in the history of human rights. She is Professor of International Studies and Human Rights at the Josef Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver.[1] She served as Director of the International Human Rights Program (1992- 2010), Executive Director of the Center on Rights Development (1993-99), and Director of The Institute for the Study of Israel in the Middle East (1997-98). In 2008, she was named the University of Denver Distinguished Scholar.

Ishay received a B.A. in Sociology and Political Science from Tel Aviv University in 1983, followed by an M.A. and Ph.D.

Other appointments include: Visiting Professor, Khalifa University, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (2010-2012, and Spring 2013); Lady Davis Visiting Professor, Hebrew University (2008); Center for Democracy Collaborative, University of Maryland (2004); Assistant Professor, Hobart and William Smith College (1990-1992).
