Re: Jilin Connell Chemical Industry Co

Re: Jilin Connell Chemical Industry Co

While I did not create or edit the page you deleted, I am interested in finding out more information about this company and contributing to this article. I am not sure if the page mentioned this, but a factory belonging to this company was recently featured in the news due to an incident involving thousands of Chinese workers who claim to have been poisoned by a toxic chemical, although the Chinese government claims this to be a case of mass hysteria--NYTimes: Chinese Workers Say Illness Is Real, Not Hysteria. L3prador (talk) 00:39, 1 August 2009 (UTC)

That article would not have helped you much. It was a one-sentence article with no references whatsoever, saying basically that is is a chem company in China. You are better off writing a decent article if you care. -- Alexf(talk) 10:16, 1 August 2009 (UTC)

Hello,

Earlier today you deleted Masters of Nebulah Frost under speedy criteria A7. (The page is a blue link because I recreated it as a redirect - the content remains deleted.) I am not complaining about the deletion per say, as it would have gone via PROD anyway, but I wanted to give you a friendly reminder that A7 doesn't apply to all articles. In this case (a music video) it clearly wasn't applicable.

Thank you, ThaddeusB (talk) 20:13, 1 August 2009 (UTC)

There is a copy of the above page which you speedy deleted at User:Erikawright/Erika Schwarz. I wasn't sure if was suppose to nominate a user page for speedy deletion. Also Talk:Erika Wright still exists. Thanks, --Sophitessa (talk) 02:34, 2 August 2009 (UTC)

I don't see a problem with the user's subpage. Those are only a problem if they are copyright violations or defamation (BLP) pages. Took care of the orphan talk page. Thanks. -- 11:36, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
The original page was deleted for copyright infringement, which is why I was concerned about the user page. Sorry I didn't make that clear. --Sophitessa (talk) 19:10, 2 August 2009 (UTC)

My dear Alexf:

First let me tell you than english is not my first language, anyway I try to contribute also en wikipedia in english.

The article is not an HOAX. is obviusly a Micronation. It said so at the beggining of the article, is in micronation category. And well i do not think is vandalic.

Please just check List of micronations And the Aerican Empire for bring an example.

Let me know what do you think. My english is terrible i know, but i will understand 100 % of what you write to me. Thank you . Best Regards.

--Henry Knight (talk) 03:24, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

The article had no independent ources and no ghits. You cannot compare to other articles to assert notability. This one not only did not show notability, but it didn't even show existence. When the article was duly tagged, you coudld have shown proof, but didn't. You did not show proof in your message either. You have to be more convincing. -- Alexf(talk) 12:36, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

Mayor of Strawberry Fields

A beloved local street artist. It's a shame his Wikipedia article was unceremoniously erased. Bring it back, man! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.54.204.90 (talk) 16:11, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

I remember adding stuff to that page months ago to make it credible. What went wrong? --Mazeartist (talk) 16:26, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

Care to produce a red link? No idea what the article is/was about. -- Alexf(talk) 17:09, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

Sure, here it is. As I recall, the deleted article had links to a video of this artist, and newspaper articles about him. So there's no doubt he exists. --Mazeartist (talk) 01:50, 4 August 2009 (UTC)

No wonder I did not remember. It was deleted back in April '09. TThe last deletion was by User:PMDrive1061. You'd have to ask him. -- Alexf(talk) 02:18, 4 August 2009 (UTC)

There were plenty of good reasons for deleting engine disabling procedure. But since it came from a .gov website, copyvio was probably not a valid reason: see this. — RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 16:31, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

You are correct. Did not note it was gov. Restored. Still probably not WP material though. Might go to A7 or PROD. -- Alexf(talk) 17:03, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

Hello, Alexf … As the closing admin of a previous deletion of this article, I would like your opinion of the latest incarnation of The Woolly Bandits (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) … I thought about putting some lipstick on this pig, but I don't believe that the current ELs in the citations constitute "significant coverage" regardless of how WP:RS they may be … Happy Editing! — 141.156.175.125 (talk · contribs) 18:37, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

...Uh... Can I have my Bryn Bennett article back? Please?

First of all, I read your page on why you might have deleated a page, and Bryn Bennett, as far as I know, did not violate those terms. Here's what I could think of that may have been the reason.

1. little text- okay, I didn't move it yet for a reason. It's a work in progress

2. Copyright- if the picture wasn't under fair use, then you might as well delete the Bang Camaro article too (I used the same picture!)

3. not famous enoghf- he's the face of a rock band that has had songs in games like Madden 10, The Sims 3, Rock Band 2 etc. If you deleate his article, you might as well deleate the articles on all of the above mentioned games.

4.Too Bang Camaro filled- Well, it's a work in progess like I stated above.

5.Not enoghf written on him- well, you have me here... If you search all of google and you can't find anything on him, then I guess your right...

Sorry for getting a bit ahead of myself, it's just that I think the guy deserves an articleMarthsBullet (talk) 02:51, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

Julie Mullen

Hi Alex

I'm new to Wikipedia and - perhaps rather too quickly - added a page about actress/poet Julie Mullen, detailing some poetry she's doing at the moment.

My guess as to why this page was highlighted for deletion was that there wasn't enough substance to it to make it interesting to the average reader. This is probably a fair comment but I was planning to come back to it today and improve on that - and in fact added a lot more material about her extensive acting career before getting your message when I tried to press the "Save page" button!

If you can bear to reinstate the page I'd be very grateful: I'll paste the text I'd added (in this wonderfully user-friendly Wikipedia html-substitute) below but will also save on my PC in case it's not convenient for you to include it.

Please take pity on me and best wishes, Martin Seager

First, please start a new section in Talk with a new header, not continuing from a previous (unrelated) article. Fixed. Second, don't post articles into somebody else's Talk page. Articles belong in article space, or in one of your sub-pages while you are working on them. Also, please remember to sign your posts in Talk with four tildes at the end, so we know who you are and when you posted. Once this was cleared up, let's get to your question. The page was marked for deletion, not because there "wasn't any substance", but as the deletion notice you received said, the article was deleted under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, which means it did not assert notability. To understand what this means, you might want to read Wikipedia:Your first article. If the person is notable (see WP:BIO), you must supply reliable sources so show it. -- Alexf(talk) 14:58, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

Recursion

Sigh. What harm was it causing? And you know, technically speaking, it was not a redirect to a non-existent page.... —DragonHawk (talk|hist) 21:49, 7 August 2009 (UTC)

Maybe I don't see the humor in it. I am a strong believer in the project as an encyclopedia, not a comedy site. I am sorry to disagree with you. -- Alexf(talk) 16:10, 8 August 2009 (UTC)
I'm a strong believer in the project as an encyclopedia, too. I wouldn't do something like that in the main namespace. But the project namespace is a different story. Humor is not forbidden there, and thank goodness. Humor is an essential human quality. The community benefits from humor, and the encyclopedia cannot exist without the community. For further reading, see WP:COMMUNITY, WP:HUMOR, and WP:FUN. So I felt an easter egg was perfectly appropriate. I'm not going to contest your deletion -- if you did it, others doubtless will, too -- but hopefully I've made you think a bit about the nature of the Wikipedia community. • Regards, —DragonHawk (talk|hist) 02:58, 13 August 2009 (UTC)

Deletion of Veljko Gasic

Are you really stupid or uninformed, that is not my problem. The page you deleted is classic vandalism. You wrote that the person is 'unimportant',despite the fact that he was main constructor of B-2 bomber,T-38,F-5 planes, one of the main engeneers in Apollo program,...Maybe for you it is science fiction, but don't forget that Wikipedia is Encyclopedia. Bg007

Insults won't get you far with admins. I am not stupid, nor uninformed. You also seem to misunderstand the Wikipedia concept of vandalism. It was a simple case of following the rules. The article was marked for speedy deletion under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, not because it was unimportant (I never said that), but because notability was not asserted. You had a chance to place a {{hangon}} tag and show notability. You didn't. -- Alexf(talk) 16:10, 8 August 2009 (UTC)

Hello discussing a deletion

Today u deleted an artist by the name of Chance Calaway, but he is one of trinidad and tobago best rapper and this is very important so if u could help this page and nott delete it.It would be nice because alot of people want to know —Preceding unsigned comment added by 190.93.0.92 (talk) 12:34, 9 August 2009 (UTC)

The article, as it clearly states in the deletion summary, was removed by policy under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. In other words it did not assert notability. It is up to you, the editor, to comply when the article was tagged for speedy deletion. That he is T&T's "best rapper" is opinion and not encyclopedic. Also your reasoning that "it would be nice because people want to know" doesn't work. Wikipedia's rules are clear. notability must be asserted through reliable sources. -- Alexf(talk) 22:55, 9 August 2009 (UTC)

Hi, I added all international goals to this page and you deleted them claiming 'WC is not a sports magazin', while I agree with this statement, international goals is useful information and most player's article do list them. I could't find a list of Aimar's goals anywhere so decided to do the list myself. All the information is correct so please leave it as it is. Klareco Textile

Excuse me, why did you delete this article without at least sending a proposed deletion message? It's just etiquette to do so, and people like yourself weaken Wikipedia. It was clear that Klareco was part of the Silk Centre, which was created in 1924, and was significant in New York commerce. I linked the two articles. Klareco is also significant because of its locale, near Madison Ave. Where is my text? Please send it to me.Robert (talk) 04:30, 11 August 2009 (UTC)

It is the responsibility of the editor that tagged the article for CSD to inform you. He seems to have forgotten. I did not check for it, so apologies on that. The article did not assert notability. I copied the article to your user space at User:Robertg9/Klareco_Textile for you to work on. -- Alexf(talk) 10:30, 11 August 2009 (UTC)

Hey Alex, The page ‘Antigua (Brand)’ page was marked for speedy deletion and I do not believe we're in violation of anything. Antigua is an established brand in the golf industry, as well as the sports market at large that has been around since the 1970s. This is my first time using/posting on Wikipedia, and after reading the guidelines and requirements more in depth I understand I have to provide more outside sources for credibility. It took a while to find as you did not provide a red link as requested. It was deleted on 28 July. That's almost a thousand deletions ago. The article was removed under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, as advertisement. Wikipedia is not a venue for advertising your company, product or website. Please read WP:ADVERT and Business FAQ. As per notability, that issue is covered in WP:CORP. There is no point in posting your sources here. Reliable reference must be furnished in an article, not a user's Talk page. Also, please remember to sign your posts in Talk pages by adding four tildes at the end. -- Alexf(talk) 00:22, 12 August 2009 (UTC)
Addendum: I just noticed you also did a blatant advert for your company in your user page. That's a no-no as mentioned above. The article has been tagged for deletion under CSD - G11. -- Alexf(talk) 00:27, 12 August 2009 (UTC)

Redirects

Hi - I've been marking quite a few multi language redirects for deletion, and you had once warned the user. A few more have cropped up today, Giloi, Giloe, Giloi plant. Can you take a look? A few people have tried to advise the user on proper redirects, articles etc, but no response other than blanking the talk page. cheers. -SpacemanSpiffCalvinHobbes 21:25, 11 August 2009 (UTC)

I'll take a quick look but I'm short on time right now. If they are marked for deletion (CSD) any admin on duty will take care of them. Thanks. (PS: Love your handle. I'm a Calvin fan too). -- Alexf(talk) 00:22, 12 August 2009 (UTC)
I have marked them as R3, but thought you might take a look since you have seen this editor's stuff in the past too. This time again, he's added in translated names in the article, and created redirects based on that and translation error mistakes too! cheers. -SpacemanSpiffCalvinHobbes 18:38, 12 August 2009 (UTC)

Cathy Marie Buchanan deletion

I am a writer with my first novel coming out in Sept 2009 in North American and in early 2010 in the UK and Italy. I put my bio up on Wikipedia, along with links to the publishers' websites, my website, and an article I wrote, and the page deleted. I read the note about why a page might be deleted and do not understand sure why mine was. To be careful, I modelled the page on Robert Rotenberg's page, who is also a first time author. Please help me understand. The page was called Cathy Marie Buchanan. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.168.113.76 (talk) 17:38, 12 August 2009 (UTC)

Does not seem to meet notability requirements under WP:BIO. Also please read WP:AUTOBIO. Finally, each article has to live on its own merits, not just other stuff exists. -- Alexf(talk) 17:50, 12 August 2009 (UTC)

Artisian

i didnt create the page you deleted, but why did you do this? this band has been on the go for over 5 years, toured Europe and released 4 full length albums and toured with most of the biggest names in the black metal genre? www.myspace.com/artisianmetal and www.artisian.co.nr they have a more established presence on the black metal scene than many other bands you have here who's page hasnt been deleted.( i shant name names, its not relevant, and im not into slagging anyone else, and if they exist they are relevant, but Artisian is higher profile, fact, so why is the latter being removed?) The people at Wikipedia seem to have an issue with this band, and i dont understand why. any past questions regarding deletion of pages has been met with rather unhelpful reponses, Id like a proper response this time and not - go here, do this response. :) but an actual- we deleted it because...... The band is established and is totally relevant in the scene and would appreciate having their existence recognised on a site that has other bands in the same genre at eh same level and lower.

The article did not have assertion of notability under WP:BAND. It was PRODded twice before. I'd be willing to restore it if somebody wants it userfied to work on it and improve it to standards so it can stay. (email address removed to protect privacy). please userfi then and ill work on it and keep it up to date, is that satisfactory, you can email me on forever_dying@hotmail.co.uk if need be, I will also email the bands webmaster and he will service the page too. that ok? - iain —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.7.112.10 (talk) 11:43, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
I can't unless you create an account. Please don't forget to sign your posts as I said above. Also, as a matter of etiquette, continue the current thread in stead of starting a new one (new text moved to thread). Unless you like to get spam, it is not a good idea to publicize your email address in open forums. Feel free to remove it from your text if you want. -- Alexf(talk) 23:31, 20 August 2009 (UTC)

Arsenal de Sarandí

Hi mate, could you revert the undiscussed move of Arsenal F.C. (Argentina) back to it's original pagename as per Wikipedia:RM#Requesting_uncontroversial_moves so we can have a discussion on the best name for the page. In my opinion the original name (Arsenal de Sarandí) is better than the new one because it is more commonly used, and if we did decide to go by the official name then Arsenal Fútbol Club would be better since there would be no need for disambiguation in the page title. Vandalism?

Hi there, I noticed you have visited the article Asma Gull Hasan and at present there appears to be a case of continued vandalism by one user. Large parts of the article along with references, have been removed uhnder the pretext of grammer correction. Could you check it out, if you have time. Have a good day! Femwar (talk) 14:20, 23 August 2009 (UTC)

Seems like a content dispute to me. Both you and the other editor have been warned about the three revert rule and its consequences. Please discuss the issues in the article's Talk Page, or discuss it with the other editor in his page. I see no communication between both parties at all. -- Alexf(talk) 15:17, 23 August 2009 (UTC)

I noticed you deleted this article as CSD G11 a couple of weeks ago. Did you noticed it had survived an AfD? Maybe it was recently altered to include ad-like text? 99.155.212.241 (talk) 01:19, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

I hadn't noticed. I looked again and the article as deleted was crappy at best. Advertising, and also did not assert notability. I looked at some previous (old) versions and some might be OK. Notice the AfD you mentioned is from November 2007. If anybody wants it back I could restore it, but as-is it will probably be tagged and speedied promptly. -- Alexf(talk) 02:33, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

Right Pundits

Hi Alexf,

The page I created for Right Pundits was deleted. I am assuming that it is for either of these reasons:

1.It does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant. I had yet to finish it, and was still working on controversies. The Right Brand has 13 websites and is quickly growing. They have also caused quite a stir for some of their posts, which is what I was about to finish.

2. The photo or text was in copyright violation. I can assure you I have permission from Right Pundits to use the screenshot and post the content about the writers.

What do I need to do to reinstate the page?

Thank you.

Jensjuice (talk) 08:00, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

I am surprised you ask as the reason for deletion was clearly stated in the deletion summary and in the speedy deletion nomination posted to your talk page by the editor that tagged it for speedy deletion. The CSD notice you received tells you what the issue was and what to do about it. In short, the article was deleted for not asserting notability. It had no valid references. The few links it had where to the organization's own web pages and to social networking sites which are to be avoided. Please read WP:ORG for notability specific requirements. -- Alexf(talk) 12:16, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

It was the vague nature of the notification and the lack of direction moving forward that prompted me to contact you. Here's a reference to rightpundits.com in a major American newspaper http://www2.tbo.com/content/2009/mar/11/bloggers-bashing-martinez-over-obama-birth-certifi/ - as previously stated, the page was still a work in progress - I literally took a break to eat, and upon returning, found my wiki page deleted. Is there a way to get it back without having to re-do the whole thing? I have plenty of other major references as to the "notability" of this site. The new page will have the social networking references removed, and additional references noted.

Thank you. (Jensjuice (talk) 18:49, 25 August 2009 (UTC))

I could userfy the page for you to work on, or else you could work on it off-line until ready to pass muster under the rules. -- Alexf(talk) 18:50, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

If you could userfy it that would be fantastic.

Thank you so much. (Jensjuice (talk) 05:21, 28 August 2009 (UTC))

Avantha Group deletion

Hi: You have deleted Avantha Group. The reason cited is G11. I would like to re-write the article, complete with more links. Unfortunately, the erstwhile Thapar Group, of which Avantha is an offshoot, was one of the 10 largest industrial houses in India. Just qualifying it as that sounds like an advertisement. The removed article, was in no way promoting or trying to promote the Group.
