Vineyard & Estate Operator – Kingsthorne Ltd, Gloucestershire.

Working with, and directly reporting to our Winemaker & Viticulturalist, we are offering the right candidate an opportunity to work with and develop within this exciting and ambitious young company.

Kingsthorne consists of 34 acres of established and newly planted vineyards over 3 sites in Gloucestershire and Herefordshire.  The main vineyard is based in Flaxley in Gloucestershire, where plans are underway to build quality tourism and events facilities alongside the vineyards and winery, in the beautiful and historical surroundings of Flaxley Abbey.  The Flaxley estate is 140 acres of grassland, wildflower meadows, woodland and vineyards and a growing number of beehives too.

 

Duties to include:

  • Vineyard manual operations: pruning, tying down, shoot positioning, harvest, trellis maintenance, seasonal staff supervision.
  • Vineyard tractor operations: spraying, mowing, de-leafing, trimming, weed management.
  • Occasionally requirements to assist around the Estate.

The right candidate will have:

  • Tractor driving experience.
  • Farm and/or vineyard work experience beneficial (although training will be given).
  • Flexibility in working hours depending on the season.
  • A strong work ethic; be ambitious; work well in a team as well as being individually motivated.
  • UK Driver’s licence.
  • PA1 & PA3 certificates would be an advantage.
