Comprising the written records generated during the course of treaty negotiations, these legally-relevant preparatory documents represent a significant reference tool for the meaning and context of the WIPO Treaties. They unlock important insight for use by national legislatures, IP practitioners, researchers and students, and provide an indispensable reference for future treaty drafters and negotiators.
This important collection, distinguished by its completeness and accessibility, complements the existing informational and educational resources available for the WIPO-administered treaties and the vast wealth of IP legal information on laws, treaties and judgments in the WIPO Lex database.
As the authoritative and global source of IP information, WIPO Lex contributes to a wider availability of legal knowledge on IP‑related treaties, laws, and judicial decisions.
WIPO Lex operates under the WIPO Judicial Institute, working to strengthen judiciaries as part of the IP and innovation ecosystems in Member States. The WIPO Judicial Institute fosters transnational dialogue on IP for the judicial community; conducts targeted studies to promote in‑depth understanding of topics of relevance to the global IP judiciary; and provides education and resources for IP judges. The WIPO Judicial Institute is part of WIPO’s IP and Innovation Ecosystems Sector, which supports Member States in developing their IP and innovation ecosystems to drive economic growth.
The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) is the global forum for intellectual property policy, services, information and cooperation.
