Overview of Tawny's Temperament and Test Scores:

Tawny is a red merle male Golden Mountain Doodle with a friendly, curious, outgoing, playful, and affectionate personality. His positive and balanced temperament makes him a strong candidate for both a guardian home and as a stud dog in our breeding program. Based on his temperament and test scores, here is an overview of his characteristics and how he may contribute to our breeding program as well as his suitability for a guardian home.

Test Scores Breakdown:

  • Social Attraction (3): Tawny has a moderate interest in people, indicating he enjoys human interaction but is not overly clingy or demanding. This balanced approach is great for a guardian home, as he will be affectionate without being overly dependent on constant attention.

  • Following (3): Tawny is moderately responsive to following people, meaning he is engaged but also independent enough to entertain himself. This independence is important for a guardian home where he might spend time alone but still enjoy a strong bond with his family.

  • Restraint (3): Tawny handles restraint well, showing he is comfortable being held or restrained in different situations. This is valuable for both grooming and handling in a breeding program, ensuring he can be managed without stress or resistance.

  • Social Dominance (3): Tawny has a moderate acceptance of social dominance, meaning he is balanced in his interactions with people. He is neither overly dominant nor submissive, making him adaptable to various environments and relationships within a guardian home and breeding program.

  • Elevation (3): Tawny is comfortable with situations where he has no control, such as being handled at the vet or during grooming. This adaptability is a strong trait, ensuring he is easy to handle in a variety of settings.

  • Retrieving (3): Tawny has a moderate interest in retrieving, which shows he enjoys interactive play but is not obsessed with it. This balance is great for a family environment where there are opportunities for play, but also time for calm interactions.

  • Touch Sensitivity (3): Tawny is moderately sensitive to touch, meaning he is comfortable being handled and groomed. His moderate sensitivity will make him suitable for families who will need to do regular grooming, as he will tolerate it without significant discomfort.

  • Sound Sensitivity (3): Tawny has a moderate sensitivity to sound, which means he will be cautious but not overly fearful of loud noises. While this could make him a bit sensitive to abrupt noises, he is adaptable and will adjust to different environments over time.

  • Sight Sensitivity (3): Tawny has a moderate level of curiosity towards new visual stimuli, which means he is open to new experiences and stimuli but does not react excessively. He would be a good candidate for a dynamic environment where new sights are encountered regularly.

  • Stability (3): Tawny's stability score shows he is emotionally steady and not easily startled. This means he will handle new environments or situations without becoming overly anxious or stressed, making him a calm and adaptable presence in a guardian home or as a stud dog.

Ideal Guardian Home:

Tawny's balanced, friendly, and adaptable nature makes him an excellent candidate for a guardian home. Here are the key characteristics of the ideal guardian home for Tawny:

  • Active and Playful Family: Tawny’s outgoing and playful nature makes him a great fit for a family that enjoys interactive play and outdoor activities. His moderate energy levels and curiosity will keep him engaged and active, but he is also adaptable to a more relaxed pace when needed.

  • Affectionate and Social: Tawny thrives on affection, and his moderate social attraction means he will enjoy spending time with his family but also have a healthy sense of independence. He is affectionate but not overly needy, so he will fit well into a family that appreciates both companionship and personal space.

  • Stable and Structured Environment: Tawny is emotionally steady, making him suitable for families who can provide structure and consistency in his training and daily routine. His moderate sound and sight sensitivity mean he would do well in a home that provides a stable and calm environment, but he can also adapt to environments with some noise or new visual stimuli.

  • Children and Other Pets: Tawny's playful, friendly, and outgoing personality makes him a great fit for families with children or other pets. He enjoys being around people and is likely to be gentle and playful with kids, while also getting along with other dogs and animals in the home.

Stud Dog Potential:

Tawny’s temperament, as well as his moderate scores across the testing categories, suggests he has the potential to be a great stud dog Stokeshire. Here’s why:

  • Balanced Temperament: Tawny’s friendly, outgoing, and affectionate nature makes him a well-rounded and adaptable candidate for breeding. His moderate social dominance and ability to handle different environments and situations will help pass down balanced traits to his offspring.

  • Emotional Stability: Tawny's emotional steadiness is an asset in a stud dog. His ability to stay calm and adaptable in various environments will help contribute stable, well-adjusted puppies. His moderate sound and sight sensitivities will not hinder his ability to perform in different settings.

  • Physical and Social Compatibility: His moderate response to stimuli and the fact that he enjoys human interaction while maintaining some independence makes him a good match for a variety of dams in our program. He will likely produce offspring with a balance of affection, playfulness, and independence—ideal qualities for family companions and potential therapy dogs.

  • Playful and Curious Nature: Tawny's curiosity and playfulness suggest he will produce puppies that are active, social, and engaged with their environment. These traits are excellent for families looking for a well-rounded and lively dog, as well as for those considering therapy dog training.

Conclusion:

Tawny is a friendly, outgoing, playful, and affectionate male Golden Mountain Doodle with a balanced temperament that makes him an excellent candidate for both a guardian home and as a stud dog in our program. His ability to adapt to different environments, combined with his emotional stability and moderate sensitivity levels, means he would do well in a family environment that can provide him with structure, affection, and interaction. As a stud dog, his personality and temperament will likely contribute positively to our breeding program, producing well-adjusted and affectionate puppies.

Golden Mountain Doodles (GMD)

Bicolor & Phantom: $3500 | Tricolor & Parti: $4000 | Merle: $4500

This Golden Mountain Doodle litter promises a range of beautiful coats and personalities, perfectly suited for families looking for an affectionate, intelligent, and low-shedding companion. With Rae, a cream-colored, fully furnished F1B Goldendoodle, and Rico, a smaller, brown tri F1B Bernedoodle, as parents, these puppies will likely inherit the best of both breeds—playful Bernedoodle spirit mixed with the friendly, gentle nature of the Goldendoodle. The expected weight for this litter will range between 40 and 50 lbs on average, a versatile size for both active families and cozy spaces.

Coat & Shedding: All puppies will be low-shedding with a variety of coat textures available. Their coats will range from wavy to curly, providing options for families with preferences for a certain look or feel. About half of the litter will carry the merle gene, which can create stunning brown-and-white or brown merle patterns, although this gene does not visually affect the red and cream puppies. Expect fully furnished coats on all puppies, ideal for families seeking that signature fluffy, doodle look.

Color & Genetics: The litter will offer a variety of colors and patterns, including classic brown and white and brown merle, depending on the gene combinations each puppy inherits. With 100% of the litter carrying the “ata” gene at the A Locus, we can expect consistent, rich coloring, alongside potential spotted or solid patterns depending on each puppy’s unique genetic makeup.

What Owners Can Expect (Male vs. Female):
Both males and females in this litter will have a gentle, affectionate demeanor and will respond well to training and family life. Males may be slightly larger and more independent, while females could be a bit more attentive and adaptable, though both genders will inherit the intelligence and warmth that make Golden Mountain Doodles ideal family pets. Expect a low-shedding, playful pup with a keen sense for human emotions and a knack for bringing smiles to their owners’ faces.

This litter’s COI (Coefficient of Inbreeding) of 3% is impressively low, promoting genetic diversity and lowering the risk of hereditary health concerns. Overall, these puppies will be a wonderful blend of low maintenance, affectionate companionship, and unique beauty!
