Household Hazardous Waste Day
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – An event that’s been going on since 1996, the Warren County Public Works office offers to the community a couple times a year, a way for residents to safely dispose of hazardous waste such as drain cleaner, antifreeze and other different chemical supplies.
Over at Public Works, News 40 spoke to Stan Reagan, the Environmental Planning & Assistance Coordinator about the event.
Reagan said to News 40 that “a lot of times of the year people will want to clean up around the house or they’ll have someone who passes away or moving to a smaller housing arrangement, so they need to find a way to get rid of this stuff, or it’s a good opportunity for them to get rid of it,” which makes the event great for safe disposal and responsible recycling.
Reagan listed some things that would be acceptable to bring, such as polishes and pesticides or things of that nature.
Of course there is a longer list of what is and is not acceptable over on the county’s website at warrencountyky.gov.
Household Hazardous Waste Day will take place this Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lauren Avery drive.
