Conor Doherty joined WWAY in May of 2023 and is currently a multimedia journalist.
Conor graduated from Virginia Tech in 2017, with a major in Multimedia Journalism and a minor in history. During his time there, he covered numerous Hokies sporting events for several student media clubs, including the final home game for former Hokies football head coach Frank Beamer.
Conor is from Severna Park, Maryland, located just south of Baltimore. In the years since graduating, Conor has worked in various different forms of news media. He worked behind the scenes at WWAY’s CBS affiliate, WJZ-13, in Baltimore. He spent more than 2 years as the weekend morning news anchor for WNAV, a radio station in Annapolis, before moving on to cover sports and community stories for the Severna Park Voice, a monthly newspaper that covered his hometown and the nearby area of Broadneck.
Conor is a lifelong Baltimore Ravens and Orioles fan, and also roots for the Hokies, Navy Midshipmen, Maryland Terrapins, and Georgetown Hoyas. His hobbies include watching sports, reading books, and spending time with his family.
