My daughter went here for a weekend camp for Halloween. She got to eat lots of comfort food, ride horses, sing songs, and basically have a blast. She has already asked to go back for a week in the summer. Yeah!
She says that she had a great time and that everyone was friendly. Also the newer cabins have bathrooms built in so no walking to the communal bathroom. (I had to use the communal one that was a few minutes walk away when I was a kid and it always reminded of Camp Crystal Lake) *play Jason creepy music here*
Overall, I wish I was a kid again and could go have fun like this!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

Thanks for the rating and review. We always enjoy feedback.
Just in response to #2, the North Pole is an event run by North Pole BC Inc., not Timberline Ranch. We rent the facility to them for the month of December, and we run the "Village Cafe" for them in order to provide meals for their customers, but the event itself is not ours. I believe you can rate them on Yelp separately.
Oh, and by the way, summer registration opened up a week ago today, and we're over 25% full for the summer already! See our website at: www.timberlineranch.com! - Teresa M.Coquitlam, BC020Aug 5, 2017
My daughter stayed at Timberline Ranch for one week. The ranch is Christian which was fine with us, though we aren't religious. We thought they'd say Grace at meals and perhaps have a few Sunday school type activities throughout the week. We attended a tour prior to the camp and the information given there was very different from what my daughter experienced.
The camps primary goal seems to be to convert the kids. They had 1 hour plus each morning of 'Chapel' and each evening a few people gave a testimony about how Jesus saved them. Virtually all the songs the kids sang were religious. On one day, if the kids misbehaved during a meal, first their utensils were confiscated, then their chair, them they were made to eat on the floor.
My daughter wasn't given an opportunity to bathe all week, the schedule is so tightly packed between activities and indoctrination. She told them she wanted to go home, she wasn't permitted to phone us even though she was very upset. No one called us on her behalf. Essentially she was a hostage.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ozzy B.Vancouver, BC2116843Mar 19, 2014

I went to this camp five times as a camper, and I loved it every single time! the themes were always very fun and I loved the variety of activities I got to experience. the staff were also always so open and friendly and encouraging, and it just made being away from home easier

My daughter has attended Timberline twice. Both times she had fun and enjoyed the activities. The food seemed fun for the kids and pretty good nutrition from a parent's point of view as well. The challenges included one summer when our long planned family vacation schedule had to change. Of the two camps my daughter had, one was very accommodating about switching a week or offering a refund. Timberline had no such flexibility even though they week my daughter was giving up was wait-listed and the camp likely got paid for the same slot twice as they could have easily filled her spot. That left a bad taste but it definitely was in the "rules" we had agreed to in advance. I can see the rules protecting them from a loss as they would still have their overhead to cover but I'm not sure the outcome should be punitive to a family that was quite willing to take a credit when another open spot couldn't be found and Timberline was not out of pocket.
But my daughter came back the following year anyway (hard lesson for my wallet, I guess). Half way through this camp we get a call from her that she is not feeling well and staff have instructed her to call to be taken home. I had out of town meetings so her father left work downtown promptly to pick her up. Despite the obvious discomfort she was in before he arrived she was told to go back to pack herself up on her own and carry everything back to the admin. office without assistance to be ready to be picked up. If they were short staffed, her father would have been happy to attend to that. No one from Timberline ever enquired as to how she was (it did involve a trip to the emergency ward in the end to be cleared for appendicitis and receive IV fluids for dehydration & nausea and she ended up on bed rest for another 3 to 4 days.)
Oddly, we did receive a credit for the remaining two and a half days camp on our credit card. The credit was for just over $20 dollars. Less than 1/10 the actual cost of the remaining days. Not only does that not even make sense given our previous experience, it seemed to just hit home the point that my unwell child was simply an administrative matter.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
