I had not been to Tower City for a very long time. It is different and definitely not as busy. The green space is nice, but the retail stores are lacking.
The food court seemed to be getting some business. A few restaurants were closed during a busy time. Tower city still offers the covered walkway to Rocket Mortgage Field House. The theatres are closed as well.
Overall the facelift green space is nice, but have no real need to visit.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Rosario S. C.Naples, United States55611245Aug 7, 2024
Once a transportation hub, the Union Terminal has been transformed into the expansive Tower City Center - a multi-level shopping and entertainment destination.
The sprawling shopping mall features an array of restaurants, stores, and even a movie theater.
It also serves as a hub for community events, drawing both locals and tourists to its expansive event spaces.
Outdoor fairs and festivals are also hosted on the grounds surrounding the center.
Visitors can easily spend hours exploring the shops and dining options, though parking can be challenging despite the available garages.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Oct 7, 2024
Tower City Center doesn't hold a lot of stores anymore. It's pretty empty and doesn't have a lot of business. It does need some updating and maintenance. It's a classic in the area, but unfortunately needs some TLC.

Tower City Center Mall is a huge building that encompasses a city court building, Casino, local novelty shops, Ritz Carlton Hotel, a train station on the lower level and a food court! The food court has a unique variety of choices for everyone. Service is quick and friendly. Prices and quality are pretty good!
There are plenty of places to sit and relax. This building also connects to Rocket Mortgage Field house via indoor walkway.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jun 3, 2024
First time coming here, this place is absolutely huge it is a bit sad that this place is half empty but they have great stores, serves as an important stop for people getting on the RTA lines, it is also a bit of an entertainment hub but the stores that are there aren't really the best either. I definitely wouldn't mind a casual stop here either in the future.

I loved coming here for years. It's the heart of downtown in my eyes.
There are places to eat and shop. The public transportation (RTA) is also located downstairs and they have their own parking area also.
This is a very good location to visit for the holiday with all the events they have.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Rodney W.Medina, United States10612093014Sep 21, 2023Updated review
Visited Tower City Center for the first time in a while with my family. We were watching the Cleveland Air Show nearby and we decided to walk around downtown. My kids were hungry, so we went to the food court in Tower City Center. As we walked through, I noticed most of the stores have gone out of business. And most of the restaurants in the food court have closed. There were only four restaurants in business on the day we visited. The place is beginning to fall into disrepair also. At least the bathrooms worked.
We'll see if Cleveland ends up demolishing this building as part of a larger plan to revamp the riverfront. In any event, something needs to be done here because this place is a ghosttown.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Aug 11, 2017Previous reviewI've been visiting Tower City for over a decade. While it offers some shopping with stores you can't find anywhere else in Cleveland, it's still not a destination.
I visit for the food selection. There are several fast food joints here that offer large quantities of food for small quantities of dollars. The cheapest lunch I have found is $3.00 from Shanghai Joe's. You can get a one side dish and one meat in a small container with a styrofoam cup of filtered water for $3.00. I always get green beans as my side and mushroom chicken as my entree. It's just enough food to fill me up and the free filtered, ice cold water makes for a quick, delicious, and inexpensive lunch.
As I'm eating, the floor vibrates violently due to the busses and cars passing overhead. There is a street above the ceiling of the food court. This is very annoying and I've never seen this kind of design anywhere else.
I'll keep visiting for the food.Apr 16, 2009Previous reviewNeeds a makeover. The cars and buses on the street over your head cause huge vibrations while you're sitting upstairs eating. Each time I sit here, I picture the Earthquake ride at Walt Disney World in Orlando. And all those upside down umbrellas catching leaking water and funneling it to a bucket on the floor? Bad design or something. I'm kind of embarrassed of this place thinking of all the tourists who travel through Tower City when Cleveland hosts events like the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremonies or the International Film Festival.
The Chinese food shops are cheap, most offering daily lunch specials for under five bucks, but obviously those are very unhealthy. The Chinese shop next to McDonald's sells buffalo chicken on Thursdays, which is tasty. McD's is abnormally expensive here. Taco Bell & KFC share a shop and don't offer full menus. Boo!
There are many better places to spend my $5.00 for lunch each day in downtown Cleveland - like Jimmy John's or Teresa's Pizza on Euclid.

This tower is deceiving. I thought it was some judicial building or something. It's a shopping center and a business center.
This may have been prominent in its younger days
Currently under going slight renovations and such. They have so much potential, but with the city exploration done.
I see why it has lost its grand moments.
Cleveland is not a torusity town. Nor does it seem to be a downtown night life driven area. Meaning the foot traffic with the area is very low.
I think if they can determine how to get tourists to come or attract the younger members to live downtown. Such centers as tower city can become amazing again.
South potential. It will then attract people and business. Either way the architecture is amazing and for those who don't mind looking at that will enjoy. Don't focus on the shops and ementities as much.
Quiet beautiful!!!Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Sharon K.Independence, United States224456184Apr 6, 2024
I just came today while in town for the Cleveland film festival - had some spaghetti at the food court for dinner - t mobile - bath & body works plus Victoria's Secret has closed locations here as well as brooks brothers which has now become a gown store - the dollar store is still open took a look but didn't need anything - and rainbow plus a few boutiques had opened up - a few new eateries - McDonald's no longer there as well as Dublin donuts and the rta tram line downstairs still exists - nice to stretch my legs and walk around ! Could open a few more businesses - the coffee place is now a small sandwich shop too !

This place is a ghost town and a shell of its former self. Absolutely nothing worth seeing here. The food court is deserted save for 4-5 places and with the exception of 6-7 t-shirt shops and boutique places, the rest of the shops are empty and boarded up. An indoor "park" now covers the once beautiful fountain. I remember when this place was vibrant. Sadly, the way people shop today has made malls a dying breed, let alone ones located in urban city centers. Riffraff and crime didn't help this place either. Other than using this place as a transit hub, just walk on through. Nothing to see here anymore except ghosts of the past.
