Okay, I'm very enthusiastic about most things I review. My excitement is probably palpable, but when I have a good time I like to share it and hope someone else gets a chance to try things out.
Tonight COE hosted a "Ladies Night: Intro to Get Golf Ready". Super! Everyone, and I mean everyone was very helpful. Well, nearly everyone (pro shop kids were typical, hey, hi, yeah, what-ever, lol). COE staff presenter, serving staff for our treat & bevies in the clubhouse, the golfing ladies who signed us in (with swag bag and smiles), our two pros who taught us to putt and chip really effectively (yup, not only do I know what that means I can do them, beginner style). Last but not least the folks who made sure we could drive the carts! What a terrific time at a very pleasant venue in the river valley. Can't wait for my first lessons next week!!!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Nick K.Forest Heights, Edmonton, AB010May 13, 2018
This review is for the clubhouse restaurant only. The golf course is fine if you want to have a six hour round. However it's tough to complain when you're spending the afternoon in the River Valley. The driving range is beautiful, a great spot to spend the afternoon. But as of summer 2018, avoid the clubhouse. Last year, I would have given the Dogwood 5 stars. Top food, great service, and truly an establishment in the river valley. Somehow the Dogwoods contract wasn't renewed... city council managed to royally screw that up.
The company that now has the rights to the clubhouse and food service, I think they are called The Red Table, is an embarrassment. The server was rude and dressed completely inappropriately for a golf course, no beer on tap, only overpriced imports and your typical Canadian and Bud in cans. We were going to order food but decided to pass because we saw the guy next to us send his hot dog back.
I used to enjoy sitting on the patio after hitting a bucket of eggs. I wouldn't go back. Another example of the city completely missing the mark. Disappointing.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Keegan W.Toronto, ON44340May 10, 2012First to Review
Nice course, especially for beginners or for a first round of the year. Very forgiving with wide open fairways and (yay!) no water hazards to really worry about. Have only played it twice because it's always busy and is usually quite a slow game, but it's a fun course for all ages. Also, one of the best driving ranges in the city.

The golf course is exceptional with great views, good pace, and the greens were the best so far that I have played in the Edmonton area in 2018, however the one negative is the food services at this course, at 7:45 AM you would think that there would be coffee ready to serve, not here, wait ten minutes for a new pot to brew, then when you go to put the lid on your go cup they don't have any that fit! Go figure, why would you need a lid when your riding in a golf cart or using a pull cart? on a plus 26 Saturday we finally saw the beverage cart on hole 15 and WE flagged her down as she was driving right past us! Needless to say with that type of service for just simple beverages we decided to go somewhere else to have lunch that day. Great golf course, nice marshal, food service two thumbs down!

Went there with a couple of friends last week. The experience was horrible. The Marshall the old guy was extremely rude. I have a pretty good hit. The guy refused to let me hit from the men ( black ) tee off. He told me I was not allowed to hit from there ever again. " never dream from hitting there, your a girl so you hit from the white female area" after that it wreaked my whole day. I have never been so insulted in my life. How rude can you be. If you look like your under the age of 26 be expected to be treated like children. from the pro shop to the marshals will never go there again

The driving range is geared almost exclusively towards right handed golfers. One whole section actually says "right handed golfers only" and in the area that lefties were allowed there were only 3 Tee boxes set up.

Really nice place to meet people willing to help you out with your game. Nice views of the valley and downtown. Upper deck is where its at. Can be really busy in the summer evenings. You may have to wait for a spot. Garry the golf pro was most helpful.
