Asian Wok is a casual-not fancy restaurant that offers American/Chinese dishes and some Thai Dishes. You order and pay at the counter. Inside are mostly booths. Most meals come out in take out containers.
They also start you off with complimentary fried crispy noodles with duck sauce.
I am so happy to announce that this is the first and only American/Chinese restaurant that I've found in Las Vegas that makes East Coast Style Szechuan Chicken. It's full of all the flavors here and isn't that sweet flat Nevada style that every other similar place serves. Here the Szechuan Chicken is also packed with very nice vegetables (just like East Coast) snow peas, broccoli, zucchini, carrots, onions, bell peppers, water chestnuts, and bamboo shoots. The chicken was moist and tender. This was also a generous portion and the price was reasonable.
My husband enjoyed the black pepper beef and it was made with tender beef too.
The woman who was the cashier and food runner checked on us often.
This isn't a fancy place and I don't feel the need to deduct a star for atmosphere since the food was that very rare very good.
I'm so happy that I finally found a place that makes very good Szechuan Chicken.Helpful 16Thanks 8Love this 17Oh no 0 - D K.Las Vegas, NVDec 30, 2024
They did not pack my total order of take out which I had to return to get and the food was extremely salty and took a few days of drinking lots of water to feel better. This morning my husband got terribly ill. I'm of course not returning.

Had take out from Asian Wok which was great. They do still allow dine-in but just don't have wait staff and real dishes/silverware. You order at the counter and they serve food with disposable containers and plasticware. Food is still great, reasonable prices, and friendly service.

One of my favorite spots for neighborhood American Chinese food. Those who have been there know that while a large amount of their business is takeout and delivery they had several booths and tables set up for in house dining. (probably more for lunch???). Anyway, that has changed. I guess due to some serious staffing issues, they are operating on a quasi fast food concept. Most of the booths are covered up and you now order at the counter. If in fact you want to eat in and there is space, your food is brought to you in take out containers.
The good news is that the food is still good, service is quick and friendly. But quite frankly, I enjoyed it the way it was...To the take out customer or delivery, no big deal.
So here's an example of lunch yesterday. Will I come back? Yes, but will probably join the take out crowd unless they re-open the dining room.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Dec 25, 2023Previous reviewHave eaten here several times for neighborhood American Chinese food... always a winner. This year for Christmas Eve dinner and libations we all decided to have Chinese food. Of course Chinese food on Christmas is an institution but while popular, Chinese food for Christmas Eve dinner is not as well known. Anyway last week when we stopped in and were chatting with the owners, they said if we wanted to order on Christmas Eve, do it early as it's a very busy day for them. With that said, I stopped in at around 11:30 yesterday and gave them a pretty substantial order for pickup at dinner time. Came in about ten minutes before my previously arranged pickup and gave my insta-crate to dolphin girl (IYKYK) ... great idea for large orders. The place was rockin' phone busy, several tables occupied and other pickups going out.
My order was ready on time, a filled insta-crate filled with egg rolls, spare ribs, soup, rice, beef skewers, crab Rangoon thingies and of course the entrees... sweet and sour chicken (sauce on the side to prevent sogginess), orange beef, beef and broccoli, chicken and veggies, spicy sesame tofu some other stuff I can't remember but that crate was filled to the brim.
Got home quickly, the food was still piping hot, fried stuff still crispy.
We chowed down, definitely enjoyed the food, unbelievably not too many leftovers ....Great job Asian Wok thank you again!Nov 7, 2023Previous reviewWhile I think I'm an asianfoodaphile (is that a word?) and typically go for authentic Asian cuisine almost 100% of the time when dining out whether it be Chinese, Japanese, Korean or Thai ....every once in awhile I just crave some good 'ol' neighborhood Chinese food. You know the kind that would have a Shanghai-ese chef rolling over in his rice bowl and throwing his wok over the stove. We're talking stuff like general tso's chicken, beef and broccoli, chicken, sweet and sour pork or chicken and chicken with cashews and the ever present crab Rangoon's that are the staple in most neighborhood places. There's nothing wrong with that food, it's just not really authentic.
But I digress, Asian Wok is a smaller place right off Centennial at Buffalo where you can see the 95 from the parking lot. I'm thinking most of their business is takeout or delivery but there are a good number of seats if you wish to eat in.
The place is scrupulously clean. You a pretty good view of their storage area and a half view of the kitchen... Just adds to the neighborhood ambiance.
As usual the dolphin lady (IYKYK) takes my order...
Had the bone in spare ribs (3-4 spare ribs chopped into thirds ) Sweet but not overly sauced. Pretty yummy.
I had a piping hot bowl of egg drop soup which had a huge amount threads. For my main I had a lunch special (their lunch special list is ok, pretty standard) of sweet and sour chicken (nicely breaded with typical really sweet sauce) and the two sides were lomein noodles (the noodles were almost like spaghetti but pretty tasty) and vegetable fried rice.
Portions were decent. Taste- darn good! By the way, they also have Thai food but I've always just stuck with the Chinese food.
By the way, dolphin girl never writes down your order but never gets it wrong either.
Unfortunately no military discount and they are closed Tuesday.
Will I be back, definitely !Sep 2, 2023Previous reviewLiked this place so much went back again yesterday. Now dont get me wrong, this is not authentic, Taiwanese, Hainan or real Chinese regional food, but to me, the more like, get a bunch of chinese take out and watch netflix on a friday night or " I'm in the mood for egg rolls and spareribs and orange chicken or beef or broccoli" kind of place. The food is good without a doubt, portions size good and service is outstanding for eat in... but it's not like Chinatown....
Anyway, it was a rainy friday and a perfect day for Chinese comfort food and didn't want to make the oh so long 20 minte ride to chinatown....
Got there about 11:30, Dolphin girl was the server. (You have to be there to understand why). We over ordered with the express purpose of bringing food home (Netflix Friday lol).
Started off with the boneless spareribs, I like the other type that they chop up and have the bones, but these were just as good. REAL filled with cabbage and stuff egg rolls, (cut diagonally like a cuban sandwhich for a nice presentation). I prefer mine whole so that I could dip in the spicy mustard. Ordered house special fried rice which was decent.... Plain lomein... tasted good, but the noodles were more like spaghetti (thicker and round), but the dish tasted good. I ordred the mu shu pork, a huge portion of pork and veggies with a good sauce. The pancakes were a bit more fragile and fell apart quickly. I guess you could use a flour tortilla for when you have them at home (I did). My dining companion had steamed fish in a ginger sauce. A huge portion of fish fillets in a very tasty sauce. Dolphin girl didn't know what type of fish maybe sole ...
But all in all a great meal with a good amount to bring home.
Wish they did a military discount but given the great food and service, I'll still give them the fifth star without the military discount.
Didn't have time for pictures, as I was too busy eating.Aug 24, 2023Previous reviewSquidlett (the queen of Uber eats and door dash) recommended this"neighborhood " style Chinese restaurant for a casual lunch or dinner. I am not anti-third party delivery, but I prefer to pick up my food or dine in to delivery for the most part.
Now to be clear, Asian Wok is more of a western style Chinese place, you know, beef and broccoli, orange chicken , moo shu pork dishes rather than some little Tiwanese or Hong Kong eatery in Chinatown that specializes in truly authentic Chinese cuisine that may not be familiar to a non Chinese or more adventurous foodie. Don't get me wrong, the food here is very good and there is a good selection of Thai dishes as well. Inside, typical neighborhood joint a few booths and tables....Racks and boxes with canned goods, bags of veggies off to the side, etc...but all organized and neat.
Quick service, two women ( looked liked sisters to me), working front of the house..Pretty comprehensive laminated menu. As I mentioned previously, didn't see anything exotic , but wasn't expecting anything like that. We opted for the spareribs for an app. ($8.75) Maybe ten medium sized chopped up ribs with a very nice sauce. My dining companion had the garlic chicken lunch special. ($8.75) .it consisted of egg drop (or hot and sour)soup , an egg roll(more of a spring roll) or a crab rangoon. The main was garlic chicken , a pretty decent portion with a good amount of chicken and veggies. There was a choice of white or fried rice or chow mein.
I really didn't see anything that rocked my taste buds on the special menu, but the plan was to order off of it. I opted for sweet and sour chicken. But asked if they could substitute pork which they did for an extra charge. I had the egg drop soup as well, served piping hot with a good amount of egg. I chose the egg roll and confirmed that it was more like a spring roll.( I guess the full size cabbage stuffed behemoths we all know and love are served as an separate app.). I opted for the fried rice. Two scoops, kind of bland, I assume if you order the chicken, pork or shrimp fried rice you get a tastier product. My sweet and sour pork was a neighborhood standard, good breading but not overly breaded. Obligatory hunks of pineapple etc.
All of my food tasted good, but the star was the ribs.
My dining companion had some sort of a bobba tea slushy dealie but I stuck with tea.
All in all a VERY good meal. The price was right, but no military discount so I couldn't give them the fifth star.
But will definitely keep them in the rotation. - Jarrod B.Las Vegas, NV134358Nov 30, 2024
I've been going to Asian wok for a lot of years. They are the closest thing to real NY Chinese food I've had in Vegas. Food is always excellent and the people that work there are very nice. The only negative is they don't have wait service anymore. You can order your food and eat there. But you won't be served. I get my food to go anyway, so no biggie for me. They have real pork egg rolls and Duck Sauce!! Try it if you haven't.

Ah, Asian Wok, the clandestine dojo of culinary ninjas where the art of 'dine-in' is a whispered legend among the 'pick-up and delivery' lore. You stride in, a connoisseur of the sit-down saga, declaring your intent to dine against the current. The choice of battlefield? A spacious booth, where comfort meets strategy, or a regular table, the open field of gastronomic combat. As the soothing strains of Chinese instruments serenade your senses, you embark on the epicurean adventure with salt and pepper chicken wings, a crunchy prelude to the feast. Each bite, a spicy sonnet, adorned with the lyrical green onions and the fiery red peppers. The teriyaki bowl, a harmonious melody of flavors, dances on your palate, while the pad thai, a spicy siren, tempts you beyond the threshold of thrill and torment. And then, the mango black tea, a sweet elixir, promising to quench the flames and cool the spirit. Asian Wok, where every dish is a verse, and every sip, a chorus in the symphony of spices. Top notch service and experience will force my return.

I honestly don't know how to feel about this place. The fried rice and chow mein needed more saltiness. But, oh my, the salt and pepper wings are amazing. I would likely come back for that alone. I'll try more dishes next time.
Service was nice.
Ambiance was lacking, but I don't expect it to be Wing Lei. It's still a good timeHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Lynne G.Ely, NVNov 13, 2024
Egg drop soup tasted like dish liquid. Beef stir fry swimming in oil and had distinct chemical taste. Beef was tender. Will not be returning

I've eaten from this restaurant maybe half a dozen times before in the last 1.5 years, and the quality of their food has always stayed consistently good. They serve New York style Chinese food here, and that is sometimes a nice change of pace from the more traditional Chinese food in Chinatown. There aren't many good options for Asian food in the NW part of town, so it's convenient for anyone who lives here too. Portions are always LARGE or priced accordingly for the smaller portions. Dishes always have a hearty amount of sauce, but the sauces tend to be thinner, so you can easily adjust the amount of sauce on your food. Crispy wonton strips are always served for free with any dine-in meal. There are lots of menu options, so there is something for everyone here.
This time, I ordered a large wonton soup and my partner ordered sesame chicken with lo mein noodle upgrade. The wontons were larger than any others I've had at other Chinese restaurants. The soup was flavorful, and there was a good ratio between wontons/soup/vegetables. The sesame chicken was flavorful with lots of sesame seeds and soft breading; there was no separation of breading in any of the chicken. Again, HUGE portion. The lo mein noodles were good enough to eat by themselves.
They've switched over to a counter-serve style restaurant and reduced their seating capacity, likely to accommodate the rising costs of keeping a restaurant open nowadays. I'm assuming this is 1 way they keep their prices the same, so that's appreciated for anyone who is trying to budget financially. Service has always been friendly and timely here; I've never had to wait long to speak to someone or be served. Ambiance is a quiet space with more subtle Chinese decorations sprawled throughout. There's an even amount of lighting throughout the restaurant, but none of it is too brightly lit (noted for potentially neurodivergent customers).
I've never had a complaint here and will return again!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Gloria G.Los Angeles, CA42126Sep 28, 2024
