K M.Carlsbad, CA64294Aug 24, 2024We really love Belching Beaver because it is such a great neighborhood restaurant. The back area with the fire pits is my favorite because it is family friendly and doggie friendly. We have been going here about 10 years and we think of BB as sort of Vista's equivalent to the Cheers kind of bar. Everyone that works at BB is very friendly and they are always eager to answer questions or make recommendations. My favorites are, the tavern burger, the Brussel sprouts,the pretzel that is bigger than your head, the passion and pear salad, and the rib eye. Okay, I am going to give you one more awesome tip. Belching Beaver has their own tequila and it is really really good. Make sure you ask all about it because the story of their tequila is a really cool.

Tater tot, hot Dam was our second healthy of the night. So I feel like the hot damn needed a second egg.

Jan 20, 2024Updated reviewAfter a not so great first visit we came back. A friend came to town and she wanted tots. We were seated quickly at the high tops by the bar. Drink orders were taken and delivered quickly. I tried the dragonfruit hard seltzer and it was delicious. Our waiter kept our waters filled which I always appreciate. Between the 3 of us we ordered the tater tot dam and the California strip steak. The tots were crispy and perfectly salty and loaded with meat, cheese curds and a delicious gravy. The steak was cooked to medium rare and was flavorful. The spinach salad was fresh. I thought the highlight of the plate was the portobello mushroom, yum! Service was great and the food was very good. Looking forward to coming back to try more of their dishes and to drink more of the tasty brews

Requested a table for 5 but as we were seated inside we got a call that there were 6 more people joining. My husband went back up to the hostess to put in for a larger table.. My friend and I walked up to the bar to, GASP, order drinks. A waitress came up behind us and asked if we were trying to order a drink. We told her yes and she rudely told us that there was a walk up bar outside to order drinks. Yikes, how were we to know you couldn't walk up to the inside bar to order a drink. She definitely put us in our place. How dare we. We proceeded outside to get drinks and to get away from that one. The patio is really cool. There are picnic tables and high top seating out there. There are also big fire pots with big Adirondack chairs. We got our drinks and snagged a few empty stools at a high top while we waited for the rest of the group. Eventually everyone arrived and we got more drinks and we snagged a picnic table that opened up near us, score! (Or so we thought). A little while later the hostess came out with another girl who was holding a tablet. The tablet holder asked us if the hostess had seated us there. The blonde hostess was standing with her, staring down at us, did she not remember that she didn't seat us there? I responded with "No, we sat at this empty table. It is our first time here so I apologize, I didn't know that wasn't allowed". (Side note, I regularly enjoy the Belching Beaver in Oceanside where it is open seating with friendly bartenders. Go there instead). The tablet holder then asked us if we had put our name in for a table. I told her yes, gave her my husbands name and we proceeded to have a stare down. After checking some things on her tablet, she begrudgingly ended up doing us a huge favor and let us remain sitting there . All of this could have been handled with a lot less attitude. Our waiter was great and provided good service. The Baja Dog was yummy and the tater tots were the perfect bar food. Around 9:25pm a member of the staff came outside and yelled out that we had to leave. He said that they wanted to go home too. Wow. Even after too many drinks I still remember being shocked at pretty much the whole experience. I'm not saying I won't go there again but I do not recommend this place, too many angry beavers, ha.
Dec 27, 2022I've been wanting to try this place for YEARS because I love all of their drinks.
They were already closed at 5:30 PM for Halloween, so I came back today (December 27, 2022).
It's happy hour!
The swag chain is a bit more on the non-sweet side, but I still like it. The pork sandwich is quite tasty (a little too sweet for my liking, but that's expected), and they definitely deliver on the portioning for the tater tots. I was hungry, but I ended up taking half of it to-go (which I later finished outside).
The bramble is worth it! It's life-changing, and the atmosphere is definitely one-of-a-kind. I loved the interior and the exterior; I will have to return!

N M.San Diego, CA14161834Jan 21, 2024Have always enjoyed coming here in any season. Patio is always fun. Dogs, humans, beers and the sunshine! What more do you want!? Maybe good food?! Come on down! This trip we had the pozole. Very tasty on this cool breeze winter day. Next we shared the Hopstickers. Very good as well with a delicious sauce. For the finale, spicy buffalo chicken dip. Dip was very tasty, full of that tangy vinegar. However the chips were almost the ones at the bottom of the warmer. We let the bartender know and he had the chef's make up some fresh ones for us. Our server was Zach, an attentive and pleasant human. He had great suggestions and his table side manners were wonderful. The bartender had a great idea of ponchos for the patio! Let's go management! ! We'd buy with your logo on them!! Looking forward to always returning.

Shared the loaded tots and it was huge. Enough for the 4 of us. We also shared the pot stickers and those are really good too.
I got the fish tacos which have lots of good flavor and my wife's wings were good too and meaty. My wife ordered the side salad with her wings and it was really fresh - she loved the vinaigrette salad dressing. It was different then we've ever had. It was so good, I would have bought some to take home!

It was our 1st time here. Friendly staff, nice inside and great outdoor patios.
Gigantic beer selection of their own beers. It would have been nice if we could have had a little taste of one before ordering there are so many. The lightest ones suggested for my wife's taste, the one she ordered, neither of us liked it so it was set aside. She ordered the blond and really liked it.
Ordered our dogs a chicken breast as it would be late before we got home. Waitress was on it saying I'll tell the kitchen no spices on it. They gave it paws up.
I ordered the Mahi Mahi burrito with a side salad and it was made well, healthy and tasty.
My wife got the BQ wings and tots. The wings were good sized (not those tiny ones you get at most places) and tots cooked perfectly crisp.
She loves creme brûlée so wanted to try their peanut butter beer version. It was a little soupy compared to most, but it was very creamy & tasty.

Came for early family dinner on Friday evening. The Beaver was starting to get busy at 5pm. The decor is nice, my son enjoyed the faux flames next to the booth.
Got a flight of Beaver brews, liked the Hazejuice and the Texifornia the best. Tots are great, if you love them fry the Beaver Dam.
I've been craving a steak, so I had the ribeye, medium rare, with garlic mashed potatoes, skinny asparagus, and really tasty horseradish sauce. Everything was great, and I took home half a steak that I'll enjoy today.
Wife had fish tacos - one grilled, one fried - and my son had a burger. I think my steak was the best.
I've also had their classic cocktails - the old fashioned and the Sazerac were perfectly done.
