Is this place Vegetarian friendly?
A:
Yes, the lentil sliders are really tasty. I'm not a vegetarian but that's always what I order when I go. I usually ask for no bun, comes on a bed of arugula.

Food: wholly underwhelming, but I kind of expected that given other yelp reviews. My salad was fine, though underdressed and under seasoned, it wasn't inedible. My husband liked the cold dish he ordered (steak tartar).
My true issue is with the service. I was there so long I started feeling like I lived there. Dinner reservations for 3 people at 6pm, during which two out of three got cold entrees (salads), no one got appetizers, and two ordered cold desserts (crème brûlée) and the total time, from start to finish, was two and a half hours. It was so excruciating that I started timing the delays at one point. Waited more than a half hour just to place an order for dessert and coffee and the waiter seemed annoyed that we asked to place the order. This was after repeated attempts to get attention to our table. Dessert then took another 20 minutes to get to the table.
I 100% understand that the waiter can only do so much if the place isn't properly staffed. But still. Painfully, painfully slow. I can't see ever going back.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Jul 11, 2024
My husband and I come here every so often, and I've never had a bad experience. They usually always have a reservation open, which is awesome for last minute date nights. Love the Hummus and Za'atar Pita Chips. It's the perfect appetizer. And the Kale and Quinoa salad is yummy! There are a lot of other great options on the menu, I just wanted to mention those two because it was what I ordered the last time I was there. The only thing I can really say is that maybe they need to add a few more vegetarian friendly dishes to the menu. Overall though, I love coming here!

The food was actually very amazing, never disappointed here . The distinguish taste and flavor was captured in each dish .. one of the best lamb shanks .. rich and delicious.. our server Alec was wonderful if you get a chance, ask for him.. ambience was on the outside deck, which is a little chilly but they closed up the windows and the daytime was a warm day got chilly at night so I did ask him to make sure the windows were closed .. but loved looking at Woodward Ave with all the pretty lights and the cars going by. I enjoyed it.

They have a pretty good happy hour menu with a lot of food options. We ordered the wagyu beef sliders, crab stuffed mushrooms, kale and quinoa salad with blackened salmon, and cedar planked salmon blackened. Everything was pretty good, especially the crab stuffed mushrooms! The service was good and when we asked to send back the cedar planked salmon to have it blackened they brought it back quickly and with some free bread and butter. It was nice and not too loud, you can't really tell you're in a grocery store!

Making a brunch reservation online was quick and simple--something I'd highly recommend because this place fills up fast. The food and service were excellent, with a diverse menu offering both lunch and breakfast options, all beautifully presented. I love the aesthetic of this restaurant, especially the charming patio out front. When the sun is shining, it's the perfect spot to sit and enjoy a meal.

Here's what I ate at Bistro Joe's inn Birmingham Michigan. I started with an old fashioned cocktail. They had their own twist on the cocktail, very delicious. For my meal I went with two appetizers which they call "Snacks" on their menu. I had the sticky ribs and brussel sprouts. I'm not a fan of truffles so I requested that the brussel sprouts not have any truffle oil on them and they were excellent. The kitchen had no problem leaving the truffle oil off. So if you're not a fan of truffle oil, but you love brussel sprouts try these!
I enjoyed the ambiance in the restaurant. The table settings are really cute and the white rose and the candles make it elegant. The balcony view into the grocery store is really unique as well.
Some friends and I went for a group dinner on Sunday evening. This location used to allow separate bills but now they don't, which is a let down. One bill was issued and we could pay with up to four credit cards. It's a pain to have to divvy up everyone's costs and collect money from everyone via different apps. Unfortunately, I think this is a mistake for Bistro Joe's, I wish they didn't change their policy. I will refrain from bringing large groups here in the future.
Pro tip: If you decide to come here as a large group who all pay for their own orders separately, I recommend that you bring cash so that you don't have to worry about paying the bill on different credit cards and sorting out who owes who what.
Everyone in my group enjoyed their food and cocktails. Our server was friendly and efficient. Again, the food was really great. Definitely a must try, I know I'll be back
(just not with a large group).

The food was okay. Nothing to write home about. Granted my medium rare NY strip was actually cooked medium. Their roasted brussel sprouts and fingerling potatoes were actually really good. Service was meh. Ambiance meh.

We never have a bad meal here. There were 8 of us last night, 6 new to the restaurant, and we ordered A LOT of food! Everyone loved everything. Some five star options from tonight's order:
Apps: Brussels sprouts, stuffed mushrooms, steak tartare all 5 stars. We ordered some sushi rolls that were good, as well. 5 start main meals: ahi tuna, prosciutto pizza, lamb sandwich, lamb chops, sea bass. Carrot cake for dessert was amazing!
What makes this place even better though, is the service. Jasmin is a rockstar and she does everything with a positive attitude and a smile on her face. She got every order perfectly, we all got our food at the same time, and she never stopped. Martin was amazing with out reservations and planning. He made us totally feel welcome and went out of his way to take care of us. Our group of 8 can't wait to do this again.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Jul 23, 2022Previous reviewAnother awesome dinner here yesterday, with the family. Ordered a bunch of items, as usual, and everything was amazing. This is the only place lately that is consistently great, all of the time! I'm sure we will be back in a week or two lol
Jul 3, 2022Previous reviewIf there is any local place that is consistently great, it's this one. We could eat here every single week, and never get tired of their menu, because we honestly have NEVER had a meal that didn't taste outstanding. Last night, we tried the brussel sprouts, steak tartare, octopus, and the ahi tuna. The presentation was amazing, and the food was dynamite. The service was great and the food even better! If it weren't for the idea of trying new places, we would always end up here. Their drinks are very good, also. Love this place so much! The pictures are just a couple of the 4 dishes we had:
Jul 17, 2021Previous reviewWe have eaten here so many times, and every single time, everything we order is delicious and perfectly done. Tonight, we started with a Dark & Stormy and a Paloma for drinks... both delicious. Appetizer was the Brussels sprouts and they are always perfectly done. We shared the mushroom flatbread pizza and the lamb sandwich. Both of them were dynamic. Always big portions, always fresh, always delicious... you can never go wrong here. Hopefully they bring happy hour back

I'm not sure what happened since I last came pre- pandemic but the experience is not what I recalled. My vegetarian lasagna was actually good but the first issue was a large bug in my husband's old fashioned. It seems like it was perhaps in one of the bottles they used to make the drink and it poured out. When he received another, the rate was off. Perhaps a different bartender. He ordered a salad with salmon; the waiter brought the salad without the salmon. He admitted the kitchen forgot the salmon, when it came out, it looked like the photo I attached. Overall, not a good experience and I'm not sure I'll be back.

Great food and one of the few places in the area that has a happy hour with numerous drink specials ($6). The service is good every time and I love the lunch sandwiches and tasty soups.
