Burger King are a muti-billion pound company but as a whole they haven't reached that level of fame in the UK, and seem more poorly managed here, and this store is an example of that.
I have been meaning to review this store for a while, located near enough inbetween Santander and Lloyds Bank on Mosley Street in Piccadilly Gardens, the branch is a little small considering it is one of the main branches serving Manchester city centre, and is quite a wide yet short store, with limited seating.
The staff didn't seem too friendly, and just the typical staff you would associate with a fast food chain.
The gluten free situation here is very poor, with the only gluten free options being a side salad with no dressing, applesauce and french fries, even the hash browns have gluten in, which is poor show, even they wouldn't be classed as gluten free just without wheat due to contamination issues being highly likely, making this a place to avoid for coeliacs, but it is a place to avoid if you are gluten free anyway, joining KFC in being the worst fast-food chains for gluten free options, but as a coeliac at least I can have the fries here!
Overall, this Burger King branch isn't really nice, with limited seating, the only thing that makes it stand out in a nice, welcoming way is the sign, but as you walk in it changes to the dramatic opposite, so with so many places in Manchester sadly I don't feel why someone would chose to go to this one due to all poor aspects of the store mentioned, warranting a single one star.Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0 - Sam R.Manchester, United Kingdom10674673Mar 12, 2010
I've only ever been to Burger King when it's late at night, I'm really quite drunk and my decision making capabilities are severely hindered.
When you go in at this time of night (for this is a 24-hour Burger King) the place is full of idiotic drunk people. True, those idiotic drunk people are probably looking at me thinking "wow, that is an idiotic drunk person."
Basically, it's Burger King, it's 24 hours, it's a bit of a pit at night. Bleurgh.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Cath M.Manchester, United Kingdom41838Mar 31, 2015
Easy and straightforward food which is nothing special but fills a gap. Service today was quick as it's fairly empty but it can be a bit slow at busier times. Food was hot and freshly prepared and just right prior to an afternoon out socialising where anything too expensive or refined may be wasted!
The clientele are not the best though - the man sat 2 tables away just opened a can of Special Brew to go with his burger!!!!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Andy S.Hyde, United Kingdom53100Mar 17, 2015
Terrible, terrible, terrible......
Had to grab somehhing quick on Monday night after a very very busy day at work..!
Some of the reviews for here are spot on - the service is a disaster to sy the very least..
Fries were ok, but the burger that arrived after 'several' minutes waiting was just edible, I will not be visiting this place within the near future, nuff said! :(Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Trisha B.Manchester, United Kingdom10363130Mar 8, 2010First to Review
OK, the place might be noisy, desperate to be kept tidy and served by people who really don't care.
But that's what fast food is and this is by far one of the biggest chains. Whatever the case, sometimes the tummy just wants the fried and the greasy and the junkiest food ever!
I love Burger King after a long day shopping at Piccadilly when I know that I've practically spent a truck-load in clothes I might never wear. It is then that you tame your heart with a nice burger, some fries and coke which never tasted better! The biggest winning point in this is that its open 24 hours which means after a washed out night at the Printworks, one can happily enjoy some food on their way back home and we all know how hunger strikes us at 3 AM when all is shut for good and only things keeping their lights on are the kebab shops on the Curry Mile.
It definitely needs some changes regarding the construction and the service, but oh well, as long as my burger is still tasting great, I'm not really bothered!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Simon Lester B.Manchester, United Kingdom437634Dec 11, 2012
Now, if you follow my reviews you'll know I don't like to review fast food chains; yet I do so when there is something to mention. Well, there is certainly something to mention here!
Friday Night, 11pm and rather drunk. I show up to Burger King and order my friend and I a XXL Bacon Cheese Meal each. Service was quick, the staff was friendly and their was space to eat. The food surprisingly was good quality and for a once in a blue moon treat, wasn't bad at all.
The King of fast food by far!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Liam G.Timperley, United Kingdom12354May 17, 2012
There is only one excuse to ever be caught in Burger King, and that's if its late and the Greggs across the road is shut, and every single decent food producer has burnt down in a wide spread horrible fire
Please don't take offence to any comments I post relating to this form of greased up fast food but....Seriously? Go find a Tesco, or maybe even wait until you get home for food. Please don't risk the welfare of your heart and bowels just for a quick, disgusting over priced meal, they should be paying you to eat there.
But I should stop ranting and talk about my sad experience, I've only ever entered this specific Burger King once. This being one night when my friends decided to drag me in, and then decided to Peer-Pressure me into buying some chicken burger thing. I attempted to ignore all the poor plastic decor and furniture and made my way to the top floor. I opened up the box, and was rewarded with an overly spread mayonnaise death threat...Because I was left to endure this, I decided to complain to my companions every single chance I could...Safe to say my friends won't go there with me again...Mission accomplished.
On the plus side, the screens displaying the order are quite awesome.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Lucy H.Manchester, United Kingdom5219280Apr 24, 2010
Dangerously but there for you, 24 hours a day, but best of all, after you've been dancing away and necking back too many drinks. Burger King to me is topping the night out with another little after party.
It's packed out with similar people always thinking the same thing. Really not good when all you want to do is taste that burger. I feel sorry for the staff here. There's too much shouting and stealing food going on. Plus it's always a mess as people just buy, eat and leave litter. How rude.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Paulo B.Manchester, United Kingdom110Oct 15, 2017
Awful place to eat, the attendant charge 20p for a simple sauce and our fries were cold it was a mess it looks like a potato salad instead of fries and even the toilets were dirty. Avoid this place if you can cause the service sucks!
