A little small but still a decent place to stop and stretch your leg while you're traveling I-80. Store was clean, staff was friendly without being overbearing. Cabela's is never the cheapest but it's always an adventure.

Not a lot has changed about this place, yet, despite being bought out by Bass Pro. I missed the aquarium. The employees were very truthful about their feelings of being bought out. Prices are still higher than I would pay.

I can not say enough about this place. If you want it and it has to do with the great outdoors, they will have it either in the store or able to order it for you.
My last visit was in the midst of covid and they were "get 'r done" with hand sanitizer at the door, social distancing and masks.
I happened into the "discount den" that is upstairs and found some bargains on a baseball cap, a Cabela's flea jacket and a flea throw blanket.
The best is their taxidermy collection of tagged animals that can easily turn into an education experience about wildlife.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - M T.Cheyenne, WY010Mar 24, 2023
I ordered a new AR 15 on Monday, march 20th 2023. I received a call on Thursday the 23rd that it was in and ready to be picked up. I live in Cheyenne Wy, and had it delivered to Sidney Nb. The Cabelas in north Denver is closer, but they only sell 7 round clips. My family is looking forward to the trip out there this weekend.
Thanks for the speedy deliver.

I miss Cabelas tremendously. It puts its pretentious rival, REI, to shame. The prices are unbeatable. And I feel like there are always sales! You can easily find under armor and north face for 50% off. They even have things for your dogs (beds and treats). I stopped into this location while passing through the town. They sell all the usual clothes, camping, fishing etc equipment. They also have tasty jerky and candy as well.

What a complete disregard for the customer now that most all are disgruntled about the Bass Pro Shop merger. You can even hear it in the conversations with every CS rep.
I tried to order Winchester shells from Cabela's and without a doubt the worst experience ever. Multiple orders canceled and backordered and then billed for the items even though they didn't ship.
To top it all off the two orders that were shipped from their location at
501 CLIFFHAVEN - PRARIE DU CHIEN, WI. Were shipped incomplete and still billed me for the entire order. Also please see the boxes in the pictures as they arrived were a complete and total cluster. The shipping guys at the PRARIE DU CHIEN, WI location placed 8 boxes of 12 ga
winchesters in a very large box 24 x 24 x 24 which was waaaaay to big for the contents and they were all over the floor upon arrival.
After 40 years of buying from Cabela's they have lost me as a customer.
Being billed for a product that hasn't yet shipped isn't supposed to be
their policy and being billed for items that weren't even shipped is a major complaint.
After being on the phone for three days now and multiple hours Sam a CS supervisor offered me a $75.00 gift card which I was told would be emailed but after three days I called back only to be told by Jana the gift cards had to be mailed. After pressing Jana more about it she put me on hold and came back to tell me she was wrong and the gift card could be emailed in another 8 to 12 hours.
Simply put the right and left hand at Cabela's don't have a clue as to what's going on there and everyone in CS including the supervisors
all want to place the blame on the merger of Bass Pro which is another reason not to do business with the Cabela's side of the merger. Don't bad mouth the guys who bought your company!!!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0May 8, 2020Previous reviewWhat a complete disregard for the customer now that most all are disgruntled about the Bass Pro Shop merger. Awesome store to shop in but I actually came in to look for some non lethal rounds and the only thing on the shelves was 12 gauge 3030 and a few 50cal.
I guess people are stocking upHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Karen S.Kelseyville, CA190105Sep 9, 2019Updated review
We saw this Cabela's while we were staying at their rv park (which is wonderful!) it is the flagship Cabela's which I understand to mean that it is the first ever Cabela's. We went in to check it out and I would have been impressed if it was the first time I had ever seen a Cabela's. However this one is very small in comparison to the one in California. Still nice but not what I was expecting.
Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Sep 9, 2019Previous reviewFound this park while traveling to California. We needed a place to stop for the night and this campground was a first come first serve camp so we arrived by 3 pm to ensure we had a spot. Easy check in, find your spot go up to the office fill out your slip and drop it in the drop box. They do not accept checks do you need cash or to write your credit card information on the form. It did fill up by the evening so if you require full hook ups I suggest you get there by 4pm. They have full hookups water/sewer/power and they have some with just electric and water. They also gave a horse area for those who are traveling with horses. Nice green grass be aware that they water at night so put up anything you do not want to get wet. But its a small price to pay for having nice grass. They they have pull thru and back in sites the roads are will maintained. Max stay 7 nights. Great spot!

The Cablea's staff is so kind. We have stopped here multiple times on our cross country trips. They are so kind to our kids, and very helpful.
Today, my wife accidentally left her phone there and we didn't notice until we were two hours down the road. We called Cabela's, they called me back when they found the phone, and mailed it to our final destination. They are so so kind. Thank you Cabela's in Sidney, and thank you Jonah, who was the person that helped us on the phone.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
