Candy kitchen has a variety of decadent dessert ranging from sugary sweets to choice chocolates. The owner is the consummate gentleman each time I go to Grandville Island I always stop at Candy Kitchen, I don't think the owner remembers me, but I go there for his chocolate and dad jokes.
It's a hustle bustle environment, but when you stop at Candy Kitchen, the owner will make you feel like the only customer. I love that guy.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Christine R.New Westminster, Canada296841350Sep 9, 2008First to Review
In the midst of all the organic, free-range produce and other virtuous foodstuffs in the Granville Island Market, there's at least one merchant devoted to pure sugar. The little stall near the main door of the market has bulk candies, truffles and chocolates, and a cute display of Pez dispensers.
At first, I wondered if I came during a bad time, because I was all ready to order some Jelly Bellys, and there was no one there. I peered into the back (from the counter) and walked around the corner to the other side. No one minding the store. But suddenly, a man appeared behind the counter. He then weighed out my candy - and got the exact amount on the scale on the first try. I was impressed.
The candy is a bit more expensive than my normal bulk-aisle fare. But soon, I had my sugar high and forgot all about it.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Kenneth N.Richmond, Canada2295676910023Nov 27, 2014
A must-visit every time I'm here at Granville Island. Doesn't quite have the selection like Candy Aisle in Kits unless you're into the Pez: they've got tons of this. The she-bang: candy, dispensers, and now, surprise surprise, Santa Claus. Just $7.
Accept credit/debit, unbelievably.
It's not a store, just a kiosk, a good corner location to boot.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Robin M.Vancouver, Canada1809434184Aug 6, 2012
A sucker for bulk candy in any capacity, I will undoubtedly stop and make a purchase at any candy store, no matter their offerings. Candy Kitchen (why the kitchen though? It's not like they're making those weird marshmallow frogs in the back somewhere. It's a tiny market stall - nothing more) doesn't have the most to offer, nor do they have the best, but what they do have is candy. Candy in bulk. Overpriced (like, way overpriced) crappy candy in bulk for grumpy kids and cavity-ridden adults like me.
No nostalgia; no specialty; just candy. In bulk. That's the Candy Kitchen.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Shila B.Vancouver, Canada17512858734Apr 2, 2014
I don't take candy from a stranger, however, love taking candy from these strangers and their shop which is colorful, happy and who doesn't love being in a sugar coma! *raises hands like a 5 year old*...I do. I wasn't looking to buy candy, however, stumbled upon this store and walked out with a nice little baggy of gummies. This is the Granville Island sugar pusher :)

Love this place in the public market! A friendly, mom-and-pops feel with fresh, hand-made Belgian truffles and other chocolate goodies. The coolest thing is they carry a very large selection of Pez dispensers, some of which are hard to find. This small shop gives me that traditional candy shop feel. One of my usual stops whenever I visit the island.
