Their cars are mainly sent to sales by other dealerships that don't want them. There is a good chance you are buying someone else's problem.

Received an online price to sell a vehicle to carmax we were happy with. We then waited well over an hour for them to perform their inspections for them to come back with an offer that was nearly half of the online offer, with no explanation for the discrepancy. Major waste of time that could have been avoided if they gave an accurate quote in the first place.

I had an incredibly easy and great experience at the CarMax on Laurens Road in Greenville SC. I worked with Cristian who was a fantastic salesperson. Very patient and thorough. He ensured my experience was quick and easy and ensured I had all of the things out of my old vehicle. I found the test drive process of 20 minutes solo without a sales person as a great improvement from the old way they did it. I also sold my car which was an easy process. I did find the appraisal on the low side based on what I submitted on line which was disappointing. My advice is to shop around before you sell but overall a great experience and do yourself a favor and ask for Cristian if you are going to the Laurens road location in Greenville SC to shop for a car.

Just sold them my second vehicle. Very fair price and the process is very easy. They honored the online estimate. Definitely consider CarMax when selling your vehicle. Kevin helped us and he was great to work with.

I'm absolutely appalled of behaviors of this company trying to sell a car to them with a offer by them rude and totally unprofessional disrespectful and plain dismissive attitude.. I would never buy or do business with such people again . If there this shady on buying a car they wanted how are they selling a car .. sad to I totally disappointed I was possibly return to do biz again buy a car in future for my son .. now I'd never recommend them .. though online and others not connected to this store is wonderful and delightful people and customer service.. this store needs some serious behavioral changes towards customers and professionalism ..

The service dept is of little help. I was told 2 to 3 weeks to be seen by their dept. The car had been in my possession for less than 3 weeks, I was sent to a local Good Year dealer that kept the car for about 5 hours, they claimed no issues, yet, engine light was on, car was miss firing, jumping and trying to stall out at red lights. I was called next day and told to take it to Ford Dealership. Now I can't get the Car Max service manager on the phone nor has he returned my calls. To authorize the charges, communications are terrible. No registration or Tag has been mailed to my home at this time! Can't reach the business dept either. Don't leave a message. No one returns the calls. Terrible customer service. Try another dealership before you buy there! If aggravation and frustration is your thing, then you will love CarMax.

I am so disappointed in this company, it's way too much to write. 30 days with my new car and it has been a roller coaster, I am getting my lawyer involved at this point.

These people will sell you a lemon of a car. They have no qualms selling a car that will have from the start transmission issues. The best part is when their mechanic looks at you like an idiot. They sold me a car that I haven't paid off yet but have already dumped loads of money into the transmission, the radiator and the ignition. Forget CarMax, they don't care about you anymore. Idk where to do go but it's not them.

BEWARE. I've purchased cars from a couple CarMax locations and I like them, but this specific location will be the reason I'll never do business with CarMax again.
Walking around their lot you can clearly see they don't even care enough to wash their cars. The interiors are filthy and they don't even try.
DO NOT buy the warranty. The company they do business with (MaxCare or something like that) will NOT repair any issues that come up unless they are small. The O2 sensor kept going out on my van (had it replaced 4 or 5 times) and you'd think that would be enough for them to check into it a bit further.... nope.
For larger problems they will argue with you and ultimately not avoid repairing it.
If you buy a car at THIS specific CarMax, you have a good chance of getting screwed. Double check everything - or better yet, drive to the next closest one.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0Apr 8, 2022Previous reviewBEWARE do not buy a warranty through carmax. They use another company for their warranties. You will get screwed, they don't honor the warranties sold to you

Got a 2016 mustang Ecoboost not even 3 months in 5 issues occur. Taken it to Carmax to be fixed and 1 of the 3 issues was fixed and they said all where fixed, didn't even drive it out of the lot and the same issues occurred waited a week and they still happened. After that wanted to schedule another appointment and then cylinder 4 misfire. Got it fixed and then took it to Carmax for the rest of the issues and it had been almost 4 weeks with no car. I didn't know it takes 3 weeks to get a part ordered to a dealership!? Also not to mention the lady said it takes a whole DAY to fix simple easy fixes anyone could do in less than a hour. Carmax sells lemons do not recommend at all
