I wish I could give 0 stars.
My grandmother went to the ER (she's at the end stage of her life). The nurse was very rude, and thought my wife was my 'friend'.
My grandmother ended up throwing up after I fed her, and the nurse proceeded to ask if she was a full code, then laughed at me and said I looked 'freaked out'. Very unprofessional and unempathetic, if you're that burnt out in healthcare retire or get a new profession.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - sarah a.TX, TX060Dec 28, 2024
Excellent care, definitely recommend this place! Patient care is above and beyond! The staff is phenomenal.

This place is a joke! Nobody at front desk, Clip boards at the window with a sign saying fill out and we will get to you shortly. Waited, called through the hole for anyone, finally a man came and said sit down and we will call you. My wife was in extreme pain which I told him from her birth on Monday. Today is Thursday the 28 of June, finally I pulled the car back up to get my wife and newborn and I told the employee we we're going to another hospital and he said fine go ahead. Just plain unprofessional. They need to take the "emergency room" sign down and change it to the "clinic that doesn't care about your emergency ". Never go to this place! At university hospital now where we were met with a wheelchair when we walked up!

This is got to be the worst hospital in San Antonio. My mother was in there for over a week her procedure that she was therefore kept getting canceled because they didn't have enough staff. The room is small, dingy and in disrepair. There was a hole in the wall that has been there since she was taken to that hospital last year. The TV did not work. The nurse staff is slow to respond to patients. We went there time and time again, requesting to talk to the doctor and we never saw him once, he might come when my mom was there alone but we were the ones making the decisions. The only reason why she was there a second time that's where EMS took her.

Christus Santa Rosa Medical Center and Hospital is more interested in the bottom line than providing quality care for their patients. They violate HIPPA by consulting with Doctors via telemedicine about patient's conditions in the hallways where visitors can hear. Everything is done through nurses and nurses assistants, and doctors never come talk to the patients after performing procedures. The medical staff cut corners including taking blood and running tests without antiseptic. They have zero regard for educating patients about their conditions or ensuring that patients have the tools needed to safely return home.

Never again. I've gone to ER for little things which they are good for. But I was admitted bc I was having an heart attack. They admitted me n 4 days later they did my emergency open heart n I stayed thereafter
7 days. It was an horrible experience. Lack of nurses n then you hear the laughing n they took forever. People of everything came in to take blood no identification. In middle the night or 3 or 4 in the morning
But then they left you alone all night alone not one time did they check on you. N if you did it was a burden. You'll need better nurses. thank god my husband was there all night i was scared to be alone. Bc they would not check on you. Your rooms are very dirty n not cleaned good. They left a buckle of urine for a couple of days n never took it out n then the drs came in and took my bandage out and left all the blood n bandage in the sink right by me. Short of staff/ overworked.
if i ever n I hope I don't get sick again o will never go to Santa Rosa again. Even University hospital looks good to me right now. I'll go there before I go back to Santa Rosa.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Alejandra B.Downtown, San Antonio, TX010Jun 15, 2024
Very disappointed with the care we received at this hospital, starting with staff at ER check in - rude, insensitive, robotic, no emotion or concern towards patients. There was a 4 hour wait, and I would have appreciated a heads up, perhaps we could have driven to another hospital or waited until morning to check in. Once a bed was available we were directed towards room, nurse didn't offer a blanket or asked what would make us more comfortable while we wait. Housekeeping was the only person who introduced herself and asked if wanted to dim lights or a blanket - HOUSEKEEPING NOT NURSES more hospitable. RN didn't introduce herself nor nurse practitioner I had to ask who they were. Nurse practitioner asked same questions as RN but took her no more than a few seconds, seemed rushed didn't discuss bloodwork results I asked at a later time because noone was really communicating with us. We waited 2 hours for a CT scan in the room, asked RN what we were waiting for she said CT scan results, she wasn't even aware that they hadn't done them and we were waiting. 11 hours later and still waiting for answers, treatment, release papers, anything.

I returned to the Emergency Room a week after being discharged home for a leg infection. The nurses were very cruel and condescending. I arrived at approximately 2:30pm and my physician ordered my antibiotics at 3:30 pm. There were also instructions for me to keep my left leg elevated. I would be taken to get my labs drawn and instead of being placed on a stretcher and given my antibiotics, I was pushed back into the waiting room. My left leg had swollen three time larger than my right leg, red, painful and hot . On my way back from radiology, I was informed by the technician that she was ordered to put me back in the wheelchair and pushed me back to the waiting room. I demanded to speak to MY DOCTOR, THE CHARGE NURSE AND THE SUPERVISOR. The charge nurse very rude and stating all their rooms was full, I requested a stretcher in the hallway so I could stretch out my leg and elevated because sitting in the wheelchair was very painful, there were empty recliners but I was not allowed to rest in any of them and receive my antibiotics. The redness and swelling was spreading to left knee and left foot. The charge nurse didn't. I finally was brought back 7 hours later and assigned a nurse who took care of me last week, she was a godsend, she informed me she had just arrived .None of the nurses names were on their badges but she was Asian and she was able to place my IV and start my antibiotics and arranged for transport to my room so my admission would be completed. During the nine hours I was there, I had no contact with the supervisor and my doctor was unaware of the brutal behavior I was shown by the Charge Nurse. She was very distraught hearing about but there was nothing she could do.
I have been a RN for decades and I would never have treated a person with such cruelty.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Elke P.San Francisco, CA010Aug 7, 2023
I was in the ER from about noon with very little attention other then the first contact and Bloodwork and tests. After that I was told they wanted to keep me for observation over night, to which I agreed to. Out of my 4 Meds I only received 1, with 1 additional one that was not even on my med list so I declined to take it.
8 hours later I was still waiting for a bed in the observation room with rarely anyone checking in on me. Shortly after 10 PM I flagged down the Nurse and told her I was checking myself out because I was not going to be charged an additional charge for the Observation room when I never eve made it there.
I went home without ever been to the Observation room. According to the Nurse they were waiting for a bed to free up. Well don't you know it, I am being charged for the MEds I declined and besides the ER charges which are valid, Christus is charging me for 24 hours Observation room. Been fighting it for 2 Years now. I got the run around every time until it finally went to collections. Even BCBSTX didn't care. Wasn't a big enough deal for them to fight the extra charge.
Needless to Say: I WILL NEVER USE CRISTUS ROSA ER ON WESTOVER HILLS AGAIN.
Under staffed ER and they do not care to resolve Billing issues...

ER staff is rude with no empathy. I waited 2.5 hours and then walked out. Their response was "the doctor hasn't seen you yet?" Thank you St.Lukes for your caring and kindness.
