Reasonable prices,, nice setting good caso dip and guac dip both good w fresh fried chips,,,, had 3 different tacos all very good.
No qr codes no mandatory tip,, and a fresh coke in a bottle that was made w real sugar.
Location may not be great for the business,, but nice folks and friendly.
NO ISSUES HERE AND IM PRETTY CRITICAL.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Hennessy D.Elkridge, MD12634Apr 18, 2024
I guess this place is no longer Coast Taco Bar. It is Cafe del Sol. Very good food. I like their other Hagerstown location so I was happy to know there was a Cafe del Sol closer to my house. The staff was very attentive and the drinks were on point. Very nice interior, good vibes...all that's missing is the beach.

First of all, the low ball reviews that complain about the QR code are probably old prudes who don't understand modern technology.
This place is AWESOME. Great service. We love the order as you eat via QR code. The steak tacos are perfect. So juicy and tender. The chips and guac are also great. The chips are homemade and crispy. Awesome drink menu with great beers on tap.
Yeah there's an automatic 20% tip but the serve is spot on. It's been several weeks since they've had in house dining now. This place is great and everyone is super friendly.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jan 7, 2023
Met a group of friends celebrating a birthday. Easily found free parking in the lot. Our table was reserved and available on time. I had the Mexican popcorn, nacho sampler and falafel tacos. I enjoyed everything - fresh and flavorful. Took advantage of the happy hour drink specials. Definitely would eat there again. They had live music during our Saturday night visit.

Did you shut down and not tell anyone. If so, what a shame! Or did you go on vacation and forget to put a sign on your door or change the message on your voice mail? Your food was yummy!!

Went to Coast the other night and overall had a pretty positive experience. We got chips and guacamole for the table, I order the Brazilian steak tacos with a side of fire roasted corn, and my friend got the steak fajitas.
Environment:
Really nice setup in kind of a hidden location? I'm not too familiar with Hagerstown, but it was slightly hidden. No issue with that. Had a cool west coast vibe, something you would find maybe cliff side (I enjoyed the projection of the beach waves lol and the inclusion of swings at the bar). I went on a Tuesday night at 6:30 so it wasn't very busy at all. When we got there there were some families and dates, and people at the bar. When we left around 7:45, we were the last people)
Staff:
This was kind of a mixed bag but thankfully our server explained the concept. You can scan and do it all yourself (I'm a fan of people interaction but to each their own!) or you can order with someone with a paper menu. I went paper and we had a nice server. Friendly informative and made a great recommendation for me. Only mishap was we did get asked if we wanted more chips for our guacamole, we said yes, and I think forgot haha. We didn't remind them since it seemed like they were closing early so no biggie.
Food:
My tacos were delicious! I was very impressed with the amount of filling in the tacos, I was slightly nervous it was going to be small tacos and I'd walk away hungry but to my delight, they gave a great portion and even more delightful, the steak was well seasoned! I'd pass on the corn as a side tho, mine was very mushy and didn't have too much flavor. They had an ample selection of sides to choose from so next time, I'm sure something else will be picked. My friends Steak Fajitas (not pictured) was also good. It was kinda strange cause the tortillas that came for it were taco size and the same corn style that my tacos had. It was very reminiscent of a DIY taco plate for a premium price. The steak was good though!
Overall, I'd have to same Coast was a fun place to experience but the price didn't quite stack for the meal, specifically for the area. The meal came to roughly $60 (with a 20% *included* gratuity). I'll let you read the other reviews about that, but my sentiment is the same.... I barely pay these prices for similar meals in DC, but I also don't want to compare too much because quality is quality. In this case, it's a place I would visit again, but I'd be easily swayed to see other options in the area.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Sid P.Millersville, MDMay 24, 2022
Absolutely delicious food. Everything was hot, fresh and so flavorful. This place is a hidden gem that needs to be discovered by more and more people so they don't have to shut their doors.
Every single taco I tried was delicious. Shrimp. Steak. Chicken. Fish. Pork. All amazing.
Avocado fries were served hot and seasoned to perfection.
The salsas, queso and pico as well as the lime crema were all so flavorful.
Great place to take my real estate clients and will definitely be back. Friendly staff too!!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Tiffany N.Hagerstown, MD8090Nov 22, 2023
Last night we had the worst meal :( Husband and I went out for his Birthday dinner. Rainy, Tuesday night, not busy but they did have Trivia. Arrived around 6pm, ordered a crush (Delicious) then I ordered the Shrimp Fajitas and my husband ordered 3 tacos.
The waiter brought out our food and it was a fajita plate with all the fixins and the shells. No side plate. Walked up to the bar to ask for a plate. The bartender went to a side tray with silverware and napkins and picked up the one plate that was on the cart , handed it to me and it was dirty, I asked for another and he walked to the kitchen this time to get a new one. I was a bit grossed out about that indeed.
Next, we started our meal my husbands tacos were ICE COLD, when he attempted to pick them up to eat them, the shells were mush, full of liquid, and fell right apart. Waiter never came back to check on us till the end, we don't' want to complain as we just know what could happen in the kitchen when you send food back. My meal was ok, shrimp's were room temp, veggies were room temp, nothing was hot but at least mine wasn't cold.
65 dollar meal was a disappointment.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ruby L.MD, MD02426Jun 10, 2022
What a fantastic addition to the Hagerstown MD dining scene.
Not only is this restaurant beautiful inside, the food is absolutely delicious every time I go, which is weekly.
Some diners may be put off by the dine-in ordering process as it is different than most restaurants in the area, but once you get the hang of it, it is quite simple.
My favorite dish on the menu is the tropical salad.
I also love the tuna appetizer, tacos and grilled pineapple skewer.
Every bite takes me back to the days that I spent in Mexico.
Give this restaurant a try because it is AMAZING!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kristina W.Virginia Beach, VA54575Aug 6, 2023
