On a whim stopped at Cypress Creek Preserve on a cooler day in November. The preserve is a great spot if you want to kill a couple of hours walking on unshaded and shaded paths.
The preserve has a starting point with a wide path that has smaller paths that branch off. The main path is not shaded but if you take one of side paths, they are relatively shaded. The scenery was beautiful. There were small ponds, one of which is right as you head into the main entrance on the right.
The landscape at times was simply breath-taking with hundreds of year-old trees and variety of wildlife to remind you that this a shared space.
As other's mentioned, I would likely not go to this preserve after a sustain rainfall as it's easy to tell that the land quickly turns into a marsh and with a marshier environment comes snacks.
We only did one trail of the main trail which equated to about 3 miles so it's not a small preserve by any means.
Definitely work go back and parking is free!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Michelle M.Gainesville, VA4325240Mar 30, 2024
Beautiful trail venue- however a bit tough to get to if you are an equestrian. All equestrian riders need to go into pump station road. The gate is not always open so it can be hard to turn around if you have a rig (but possible) once you get in the equestrian area is large and easy to park. Lots of trees to park under and where the equestrian area is, not a lot of people know about it so it's quiet. Good Luck!

My family and I have hiked parts of this park from two different entrances. It is a fine park for hiking, biking, running and enjoying nature. If you are in search of something else like facilities or a kids zone you'll want to go elsewhere.
The Pump Station Road entrance is paved which makes it a great place to rollerblade or road bike ride. The entrance by Pine View has a beautiful lake off to the right almost immediately. A little bit further on the left there is a fun trail loop that is full of ferns, pinecones, butterflies and birds
Cypress Creek is a good park for being outdoors, working out and enjoying Florida's natural environment.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Armando C.Tampa Bay, FL080May 22, 2024

Nice place to walk or bike. Level paved road with no motorized traffic allowed except official vehicles. Many side trails. People ride horses there.

My wife and went to explore the Preserve looking for new places near home to walk and ride bikes. We used the entrance off Pump Station Road entrance. There is a second entrance off Lizards Trail.
Very primitive no facilities but miles of hiking, biking and equestrian trails.
There are two campsites listed on the website but we didn't walk in far enough to see them today.
Did a quick 4 mile loop and plan to come back soon with our bikes.
if you go in the summer make sure you take bug repellent because you are definitely in a wetland area.
Not much wildlife activity but did get to see a Great Egret fly by.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - D L.Tampa, FL32191567Mar 30, 2018
CCP is a beautiful preserve with 3 different trails to walk. Many varieties of plant-life, large and small. Hundreds of flowering plants while we were there during the month of March. You'll see am armadillos if you're lucky. You'll most certainly see the holes they dig for insect delights. We have spotted many diff types of birds and insects, snakes as well!!! We spotted a nesting pair of whooping cranes! They whooooooooped and flew right above us!!
The entrance to the trails is tricky. You must park about 300 feet from the entrance. Walk toward the street, make a right and keep walking to the sidewalk. When you reach the sidewalk you will see a yellow road sign. At that sign look to your right and there is the entrance!!!
Have fun exploringHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - May 30, 2014First to Review
This is a lovely park. I like the entrance on Parkway Boulevard on the left before Pine View Middle School. There is a nice loop trail off the left. Depending on the season it can be a little overgrown and they do rototilll for a fire break so it can be a little choppy, but it's got some good trail running opportunities.
There is also an entrance on Pump Station Road and a paved trail in this part of the park.
Cool place to explore if you like nature.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Chelsea B.Winter Garden, FL145178343Jul 11, 2015
There's not much in the way of facilities, but Cypress Creek does have miles and miles of unspoiled, uncrowded trails--if you can find it. It's nestled back essentially behind a neighborhood, just off a back road, and google maps doesn't even seem to have the right location. It's definitely off the beaten track here--but that's why I love it!
Walking through swamp and Florida prairie, it's easy to forget that you aren't the only person left on earth. I rarely pass anyone past the entrance areas, and with well marked trails I can feel like I'm getting lost in nature while always knowing how to get out. There's a ton of wildlife, and supposedly great fishing (don't ask me, I don't own a pole!) but it's mostly a place to come to wonder at nature and what was here before the humans came. But the mosquitoes have staked out a pretty hefty presence, so don't forget bug spray, and the limited facilities do not include a safe drinking water source so haul along water. But if you're local, come out and lose yourself in the wonder of Florida countryside.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Kristi C.Ocoee, Orlando, FL964460Mar 24, 2017
Completed more than 10 beautiful miles with friends. Longest trail (about 6 miles) is directly near the entrance/parking just before the middle school but is not well marked- all 6 of us missed it but had a great time anyways!!
