At Duckhorn Vineyards, we believe that wines are made in the vineyard. While this may not be a
new concept, it is one that we take very seriously. Therefore, in the late 1980s, we began to locate
and purchase vineyard properties in recognized Napa Valley areas in order to acquire sufficient v…

Q:
Can I bring a small dog for a wine tasting?
A:
Their website says only service animals. I've been a member there since 2009 & never seen one. I'd call them to check. There are many other dog friendly wineries in the valley.

My wife is allergic to alcohol, but we are visiting as a couple, can we do walk-in to have a glass of wine and purchase? and can I do a wine tour (with my wife being a company but not drinking?

Most of the wineries in Napa will allow it. Just call Duckhorn rather than booking online.

We had an incredible experience at Duckhorn Vineyards in Napa Valley! The Portfolio Tasting was a highlight of our visit, featuring five exceptional current-release wines from their list. The artisanal cheese and charcuterie complemented the flavors perfectly, which we purchased on top of the tasting.
What truly made our experience stand out was the amazing service from Luis, our sommelier. He was knowledgeable and attentive, answering all our questions and making us feel welcome.
I must apologize for my clumsiness - I accidentally broke not one, but two wine glasses! Luis and the team were gracious and understanding, making us feel at ease despite the mishap.
Duckhorn Vineyards is a must-visit destination in Napa Valley. The combination of exceptional wines, stunning scenery, and friendly staff makes for an unforgettable experience.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Tabitha H.Oakland, CA254730953Oct 16, 2024
My mom and I visited Duckhorn Vineyards for a portfolio tasting yesterday, and overall, it was a lovely experience. At the time of this review, the tasting is about $65 per person (or around $71 with tax).
We were able to book day-of through Tock, which was convenient.
The winery was beautiful, and we sat outside, enjoying a nice breeze. Our host, Louis, did a great job introducing Duckhorn, each wine, and even shared some of his personal favorites, which made the experience more engaging. We tasted seven wines and enjoyed most of them. The tasting began with five breadsticks, which was a nice touch.
However, I have one small gripe. After Louis finished pouring the wines and explaining the membership program, he never came back to check on us. We were hoping to ask for more water and breadsticks, especially since he said he'd bring more but never did. Unfortunately, it was impossible to get anyone's attention since all the hosts were very focused on their own tables.
On the plus side, the bathrooms were clean, with nice napkins to dry your hands. There's also plenty of parking available for guests, making it easy to arrive stress-free.
Despite the small hiccup, we had a great time and would recommend Duckhorn for anyone looking for a beautiful winery with excellent wines. Just be prepared for a bit of a hands-off experience once the tasting wraps up!Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 3Oh no 0 - Aug 22, 2024
Amazing wine, amazing service, gorgeous grounds.
This was my first time at Duckhorn (although I've had their wine before) and it blew me away. Our wine specialist was so accommodating and really knew the history and was super sweet, I think her name was Rachael?
Anywho, if you're coming up to the napa valley this place should 100% be on your list.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Nov 14, 2024
Duckhorn vineyards in Napa county California. Is a beautiful picturesque winery in the foothills of the Palisades Mountains. I was taking my grandma on a wine tour of California and she wanted to check out Napa and Sonoma. The wine was decent. The charcuterie board was ok. The person yapping at us about the wine was a little bit rude. I studied hospitality management including food and beverage operations. When I asked if we would be given separate glasses for each wine vs one glass for four different ones during our tasting (I learned you should be given a different glass for each wine) she snapped at me (she even got a few her facts wrong) but people are people and at the end of the day the wine was good and my grandmother enjoyed herself.

I booked Duckhorn Vineyards a few months ago but was unable to visit due to my husband catching Covid. The front desk was super empathetic and kindly moved my reservation to the following month.
Right before my visit this weekend, I had to increase my party count and Marina at the front desk was helpful and prompt with returning my calls to get my reservation updated.
Upon arriving, we were welcomed with a glass a Pinot rose. Our host Miguel, was extremely knowledgeable on the history and the production process of the wine. He was attentive, sweet and provided excellent customer service. This was truly one of the best experiences we had at Napa and we are Bay Area locals who visit Napa often!
Our party of 6 had an amazing time at Duckhorn! With our new membership here, we will definitely be visiting more frequently. Thanks Miguel!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 5, 2024
Duckhorn is so much more than the labels you see on the shelf. Yes, it's always good to know you have amazing wine on hand across the US, but the journey to the region to visit their different brands is inspiring. We've been club members for 3 years, and love visiting each vineyard. The personalized service, incredible properties (inside and out), and customer care are truly an experience. It makes seeing that bottle that much more beautiful. We always ship home a special selection you can't find anywhere else. Cheers to more years!

We had a lovely experience at Duckhorn! It's a bit out of the way from downtown St. Helena which made it quiet and peaceful. Thomas was our server and he was excellent. Clearly very knowledgeable about the wines and the vineyard, plus he seemed genuinely excited about the wines they were serving. In addition to the five sample wines for a tasting, Duckhorn also provides breadsticks to nibble on.
Their reds are fantastic - both the cabs and the merlots.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nov 18, 20235 check-ins

The girlfriend has a wine membership here and this has been one of our fave spots for our girls outings. The ambiance and the staff are super friendly and it's always nice to just decompress and catch up.
This past time, we were able to sit outside and enjoy the sun with a hint of wind from Mother Nature.
Our wine flight for that day was decent - the girls all loved it but I opted to drink the lighter side of the wines available. Our server managed to give us pinot noir tasting on the side, which I forgot what it was but it was delicious.
Definitely well worth checking out and super grateful for the girlfriend's membership!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 30, 2023
Around about the turn of the 21st Century; someone gave me a five-year old bottle of Duckhorn Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon for my birthday. Shortly thereafter, I invited a friend over to my Man Cave, ordered one of my favorite pizzas, and my friend and I shared both the pizza and the wine. Before drinking it that first time, I decanted the Duckhorn Cabernet for 8 hours. Subsequently, I worked out by trial and error that (for me) when drinking Duckhorn Cabernet decanting for several hours prior is required - unless the wine is 9 years old or older. Ever since I drank that first bottle of Duckhorn, I've been an ardent fan. Duckhorn's Cabernet are consistently excellent, and I always try to have a couple of bottles on hand for special (and not so special) occasions.
The next time I was in their neighborhood, I made a tasting appointment. When we arrived for our tasting we were escorted to our table outside the main building on the beautiful Duckhorn Vineyards. The sommelier who took care of us that day was exceptional. She spent time telling us in detail about all the wines they were pouring that day; she event offered us several tastes of wines that were not on the regular tasting menu. Unfortunately, I hadn't anticipated how much we'd enjoy this tasting visit, so the only way we could take advantage of the offered extra tastings was to cancel our next appointment.
Tip: If you're a fan of big, complex reds, I strongly suggest that you don't schedule a tasting appointment afterwards that's too close to yoour appointment here; you'll be much happier if you allow sufficient time here first.
To sum it all up, the grounds and interior sitting areas of Duckhorn Vineyards are beautiful, and their wines (especially their signature Cabernet) are among the best available in wine country. I strongly suggest that you take the time to get acquainted with Duckhorn the next time you find yourself in their neighborhood.

We've visited Duckhorn about 5 times over the past 5 years. Every time seems to get better and better. The last time we visited we were able to enjoy a "Marlee's Signature Tasting." From the website:
"Celebrating Margaret's legacy, our 90-minute Marlee's Signature Tasting is hosted in our idyllic Marlee's garden, with views of her namesake vineyard. This tasting offers a selection of coveted single-vineyard wines and our iconic Sauvignon Blanc, paired with delectable small bites. "
It was the BEST tasting we did on this recent trip. Our host Scott was SO attentive , relaxed, cool, fun, not pushy. Every year Duckhorn seems to do better and better. The wines are beautifully crafted from Duckhorn (Three Palms Merlot -- exceptional). The wines from Goldeneye are ....perfection.
I can't say enough great things about Duckhorn. It really is first class. Thanks to the team.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
