Do YOU suffer from ANY of these dilemmas:
--Didn't get accepted to your first-choice university out of high school?
--Didn't have a high-enough GPA to get into that first-choice uni out of HS??
--Worried that, even if you DO get accepted into that first-choice uni out of HS, you find yourself sitting in class wondering to yourself "how in the Nine Levels of Hell is sitting on my butt, four hours a day, three to five days a week, gonna get me any closer to achieving my goals in life???"
--Sick of that lousy, dead-end, low-paying job, with that B@TCH of a dung heap boss, holding you back, BUT, you're still reluctant to dole out all that time AND $$$ to go to school????
--Do you find yourself staring at the clock on the wall or at your watch more than you do paying attention at work?????
--Despite being a top performer at your job, was someone else promoted...AGAIN?!?!?!?!?!
--Is that paycheck you got just not cutting it for ya???????

There's a solution to ALL that!!!

ECC, for the past several years--more years than I can count--has been rated THE top community college in CA, one of the top THREE on the West Coast, one of the TOP TEN west of the Mississippi River, and one of the Top in the Good Ol USA

      Nuff said...other than...

Hey, what've ya got to lose???
      NOTHING!!!
It's like my Uncle D--God Rest his soul--used to say at the shooting range:
"Just step up and take yer best shot...!!!"

These are but THREE of 1001 questions you're asking yourself

Do not come here if you are planning to major in STEM! They do not have sufficient amount of staff to handle the students demands. After taking my issue to the Dean of the chemistry department, she was very condescending and no help at all and was more concerned that she only had 20 minutes left on the clock. I also was treated as if I was a threat even tho I was desperately crying posing no threat at all... (I couldn't help but feel the color of my skin had to do something with it) So glad this is my last semester here I will not be returning.

Visited the football field only for a high school football game.

Very nice football and track & field stadium. Looks new or at least remodeled.

Bleacher seating is very spacious and comfortable, restrooms are huge, modern and very clean and parking is very convenient, clean and plentiful though a little tricky to locate entrance.

While I did enjoy going to school here because of the nice campus and people, El Camino doesn't hold their own degrees of high value, when I tried to apply for jobs at El Camino in my related field, I was rejected time and time again. I received high honors in my two A.S. degrees and a handful of certifications but have been rejected here for entry level positions directly related to the degree subject so many times it's even angering in the disrespect given to alumni. How can anyone value a degree that it's own college doesn't value. I also had numerous times of discrimination, and childish professors using their authority and power to lie about grades, and manipulate other factors while I was a student, and escalating these matters to administration achieved nothing. Professors can literally abuse their power and get away with it with only the student suffering. For those reasons I would not recommend this college to anyone, I would not want someone else to waste their time or money to not be taken seriously or respected for their achievements.

Visited on Monday, 06/20/22 for the first time. My boyfriend is an El Camino College alumni and transferred to USC after. He wanted to tour around the campus since it's been a while and wanted to show me around.

Per my boyfriend, El Camino College is one of the best community colleges in SoCal in addition to SMC (Santa Monica College). He also stated that an extravagant amount of students here transfer to well-known, prestigious 4-year universities (UCLA, USC, all other UCs, etc.). He also mentioned that A LOT of students here want to transfer to UCLA (aka competition).

Parking: We parked at a large, new parking structure that wasn't there when my boyfriend was a student. It makes sense that El Camino College is investing to renovate/expand their campus by adding additional parking structures since the vast majority of students commute to school. Fortunately, when we parked we didn't have to pay for a daily parking permit (perhaps due to the Juneteenth Holiday or due to lack of students on campus - summer school?)

Upon leaving the parking structure, a student stopped us and asked us if we were planning to visit indoors - we said yes - she mentioned that we would have to get tested rapidly by entering a couple of information on their iPads and we will get a bright lime wristband which is a ticket for entering indoor premises. She directed us to head over to the Planetarium and get tested there. So we headed over too the Planetarium and checked in at the tent. In summary, we didn't get tested. Students just asked us to show our Vaccine Card (which we didn't have a virtual copy at the time) but we had email proofs from CVS, etc. that we scheduled an appointment for a booster and received the booster administration. They seemed a bit incompetent as they weren't sure if that serves as "proof" (which essentially it is). Student asked us if we will just be touring for 1 day and which we said yes. The student basically was being very lenient to us and just gave us the wristbands. We also grabbed some free KN95 masks.

Campus was very empty. A few students at the library, inside the classroom, and roaming around the campus.

Overall I had a great time as I love visiting other campuses. El Camino does not have a lot of dining options compared to CPP (Cal Poly Pomona) and UCLA.

We also visited a study room inside the Chemistry Building and chilled inside for a while as it was super hot outside and why not enjoy the free AC/cooling fan? My BF used to study in this room frequently; there was a 'Metabolic Pathways' poster that was there when he used to be a student - which we find hilarious as this study room indeed has not changed much (poster likely over 15 years old). I also found a John Wooden book in this room - which makes sense for students to learn more about John Wooden's coaching methodology that drove his success at UCLA. El Camino College sure loves UCLA :)

I would not recommend anyone go to this school. The Dean of the Biology Department is very judgmental and purposely not helping students to success. She is abusing her power. For that , as parents we will never put my kid to this school! Please don't waste your future and money in this terrible school!

This is specific to the Nursing program.
I really didn't think any of the horror stories existed anymore. To say professor's eat their you g would be an understatement. I get it, its stressful and you have students all day. Same shit when you're out there in the nursing field. This specific professor (i am speaking up for a friend) with a foreign accent will remain unnamed was the worst. She berates her students to the point of tears and frustration. Threatening their hard work for what?! Build the future up and show them how it's done. Teachers make a world of difference and this teacher failed as she is actively tearing down those she didn't take to liking. So beware prospective students. And for those who are there and have felt this type of abuse, I hope you get the courage to report her even if nothing is done. The fact that she is being reported should send her and the staff a message.

This junior college is a large community college that is located in Torrance. The college is centralized on several city blocks and each building is clearly labeled. The walkways are large and clean.

There has a great practice field centrally located and a huge football stadium on this campus. There is plenty of well organized parking structures around campus.

For a junior college where you wish to transfer to a CSU or UC system, it's a good viable choice.

      Nice stadium
